Hi, can somepone help me a give me the legth of the dash away from the radio/facia ? I need to know how far does the top of the dash extend past the wood facia or where the daio is fitted on a 93 xj ? does that make sense? the bit of the dash surround that hangs over the radio, clock etc...

Anyone know if there is any differance between the pre and post cat O2 sensors? I know they have differant part numbers and i think the cable length is differant but is there any other differance? Basically can i take the sensor out the post cat and use it in pre cat? its in my 97 4.0L Any...

ok i will try ang take some photos tomorrow and email them to you. i dont think i can take one from the bottom up as there is a cover that covers the bottom. anyway will check it all out and let you know.

Do the different brands/types of spark plugs really affect fuel consumption that is noticeable? fitted NGK about 1000 miles ago and many people said they give better mpgs but found it the same as the champions... anyone found a difference?

Thanks for the info ! I will try cleaning the throttle body, see what happens. Its a very slight rough idle, its like its got hick-ups...runs ok then sudden quick drop and up again. does that sound like anything familiar?

Ok i am trying the test with the carb cleaner to find a leak... I spray it on the hoses etc and nothing happens, does that mean there isnt a leak? what could be the cause of my slight rough idle on my 97 4.0 ? thanks for any ideas? ps. new plugs, leads, arm, cap and o2 sensor (upstream)

does a bad map sensor result in bad mpgs? I am still trying to improve my mpgs. replaced O2 sensors, leads, cap, rotor, plugs and just found the ccv hose has a slight leak but dont think that would be the cause? so i am now thinking a bad map possibly? any ideas?

thanks for the info ! I pull each hose off and the engine speed up, however i think i found the hissing one and its the ccv one. but could that hose be causing bad mpgs?

not according to champion there not. the rc12lyc (which is still used upto 2000) is 0.8mm and the rc9yc4 is 1mm p.s sorry for the metric, but thats what we use here...

I dont think they are. upto 12/90 they where RC9YC4 and then 01/91 on they changed to RC12LYC thats the champions anyway.

I am trying to find a vacuum leak as i have a slight rough idle and can hear a hissing in the engine. can anyone point out the most common ones to check ? and when i pull a hose off what should happen to the engine? if that the one leaking will it then run smooth? just not sure what to be...
