'98 transfer case in '94 XJ??

Thanks guys. I was planning to pull the output shaft to make sure I got the hole for the hack and tap perfect so if I can still pick it up I'll pull the shaft from the old one, modify it for the SYE and put it in the new one.

'98 transfer case in '94 XJ??

I plan to put in a SYE so I'd just get the hack and tap setup for a '98 instead of a '94 which I believe would take care of the t-case output shaft difference. With the T-case being out of the truck this will be the best time to do the SYE since I can pull the output shaft and modify it in the...

'98 transfer case in '94 XJ??

I did some searching and found some answers but I still have a question or two. I have a mostly stock '94 XJ sport with automatic 4.0l. The PO was running three different sizes of tires on the truck and damaged the transfer case. At least I think it is the transfer case, when I engage 4wd it...

question about driving around with the rear end raised while front is still stock

That is exactly what I did but my free time is rare so I drove around 3 weeks with just the rear lifted. Its just a little weird being tipped forward and looked pretty stupid. The front is the easier part.

    Leaf Spring Issue

Seeing that second picture makes me think I need to look at mine and maybe the shackle hitting the frame explains my knocking noice when I go over a bump hard since I put on my 3" lift RC springs. I guess new shackles it is, I'm not going to fight an excuse to add another inch of lift. :) The...

    Wheel Size

Yeah, on my old XJ with no lift I ran 235x75x15 tires and off roaded a few times and they worked out decent and they mounted very easily on the stock rims. Really, thats awesome to know. I have a 3" lift on my new XJ and was thinking of running stock tires most the time (save gas and they need...

New member first jeep. 3 vs 4.5 inch lift

The lift you linked to says it comes with new control arms so you are good there. You probably will want to add an adjustable track bar. I'm guessing you daily drive your jeep and since you just got your license I don't think you want to be driving with your axle off center. Ideally you...

3 in lift what do I need

If you are putting in new rear springs and not just add a leaf get new bolts for the leaf spring mounts since you will most likely have to cut the old ones.

    No third brake light options?

If you are willing to do a little work the 3rd brake light on the Blazers and siblings is a strip LED that mounts flush on top of something, you could probably mount it to the top of the hatch. It looks black not silver but still should look pretty nice. To fill the holes from the old brake...

My front tube bumper with winch behind the crossmember

Nice build. Really helps put me at easy knowing I could put a which completely behind the cross member. I'm also curious about the tubing. I've read most people use 1.75" DOM tubing but with what thickness have people used and still been able to beat it without damaging? My dad got a bender...

Gas mileage question for guys with Ford injectors

The nut on the O2 is a standard size for all or at least most O2 sensors. They make O2 sensor sockets that have a slit in them for the wire and they are pretty cheap so I'd recomend just picking one up, it makes the job much easier. I guess thats assuming it is in a place convenient to get a...

Gas mileage question for guys with Ford injectors

Thanks for this info. Mine has been doing a similar thing since I bought it, although mine always starts if I push the gas down some, so I was going to do a basic tune up, well mainly just an air filter and fuel filter since the PO had just did plugs, wires, cap and rotor. I was also going to...

    Rear leaf spring question...advice needed

I just put my new lift spring on the rear about a month ago and spent the whole weekend just getting the rear of the lift on my Jeep, I have two kids and was watching them part of the weekend too. Obviously I soaked everything with PB then I: The rear I heated the nut and used two breaker...

Need Opinions on 1994 Jeep on craigslist needs tlc!

It could be as simple as a fuel filter. That is what my old one did when the fuel filter got really clogged. At first I thought maybe that was Hartford WI and I was going to say for one with that clean of a body around here that is a steel. The XJ I just bought I paid quite a bit extra since...

ZJ seat install, front and rear. Write-up and pics.

Thanks. I have no problem fabbing something up to make it work I was just curious if it was worth the effort to pull some newer XJ rails and it looks like there is no point to do that.
