I didn't think of the wiring and heater box. Thanks!
And +1 on the nuts and acorns. I remember cleaning out the frame rails on my old yj - good lord. Gotta get on that too.
Every single one of y'all are appreciated. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Going to make a run to the u-pull it this weekend and get a new front seat (the fella had something (?) stored on the driver seat and it leaked through), and while I'm at it, pull an old distributor for my new 'priming...
That is absolutely brilliant, I never thought of that, but a long flat-blade screwdriver shank, and an electric drill, may do the job nicely. Putting that on my list, for sure. Thank you!
(as an aside, love the nickname 'scope creep')
Hey, all. Just picked up a 4.0 '99 XJ from my neighbor, was sitting in their garage for over a decade (I think 11 years). Body is beautiful, but before I start it up, I want to run the prep process by y'all. Please let me know if I'm missing anything, or if I should do anything differently...

I have a '97 XJ 2WD w/ solid body - and a '00 XJ 4WD with a destroyed body.
I'd like to swap the 4WD AW4 etc. to the 2WD body. My approach in regards to the AW4, as...
Hey y'all, need help on something.
Got a '97 with a cracked head (0630 stamp) and a ton of coolant in the oil. I'd be risking it with the bottom end bearings, for sure, without doing a replacement of these, too.
Also have a '00 with a good engine. Would like to just swap the engines.
'00...
Got a '97 with a blown head gasket for about $600 the other day to replace a rusted out '00 the kid bent up on a trail. 17yo, Billy Badass, etc :).
'97 has the 4.0 with a 8.25 rear. It's a 2WD, with zero rust (it was some lady's mall crawler, and garage kept).
The '00 was a straight up...
