    Front upper shock mount fab...

I am about to order my new shocks. I was contimplating on using the islet shocks for the upper front instead of the bolt. I always get frustrated with removing those damn things because they're always rusted and it's difficult to hold the shock still. I was going to fabricate or find a company...

Front upper coil mount relocation...beez, vintage, farmermatt??

That's a good point vintage. If I want to swap axles or do something different for the links, I'll not be screwed. Yes, it was clear and I guess I should have I only have mentioned only using one bolt hole in the retainer and cup mount instead of both. You can rotate it if you only use one...

Front upper coil mount relocation...beez, vintage, farmermatt??

Ahhh, I understand your logic. I'll start worrying about moving the bottom perch underneath. Thanks

Front upper coil mount relocation...beez, vintage, farmermatt??

Matt, They're sitting about 120* from the stock position in the picture, which has helped out. It was bowed more when they were in the stock position though. Fullsize, Just for my future projects' referencing guide, why would it be better to move the coils inward on this project? Thanks for...

Front upper coil mount relocation...beez, vintage, farmermatt??

Well, I've got my project started, here's the link to the showcase thread... http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=31056 I had an idea last night about straightening the coils up on the front. Here's the idea, sorry about the horrible picture but you should get the idea. I thought...

    D44 brake fitment?

If you are running 3/4 ton chevy brakes, then yes, it would be wise to shave the caliper down to fit a 15" wheel. From my eyeballing mock up with mine, the caliper looks to be about 1/8" away from the wheel without shaving. I still need to put my HP44 togther to see how much I need to shave off...

Hooking up a 1330 CV to 231...u-joint problem

Well guys, I've spent way too much time on this thread. It's pointless to continue, I've got the information I need. Thanks for the ideas and for the good lucks, I'll see you on other threads, time allowing.

Hooking up a 1330 CV to 231...u-joint problem

To add something, I can see that there would be a problem not matter what the condition of use, if the driveshaft was fully or mostly elongated. This would make it so that the transfer case yoke would fall out during rotation. The yoke would move towards the rear, pushing the driveshaft down...

Hooking up a 1330 CV to 231...u-joint problem

Sure, I guess I am bent on destroying it. Sounds like fun! At least we'll have some phsyical proof, right? Next time someone asks, we'll have pictures and a story to tell. Help me understand the slip yoke on the diff side moving away while the transfer case end moves away. I assume by moving...

Hooking up a 1330 CV to 231...u-joint problem

This is the one I'll be using, not completely the same, but similar. After finding out about the 1310-1330 u-joints, I decided that I would be able to take a clipable cap from another 1330 and place it on the center section of the CV and then I could press the 1310 ends of the joint into the...

Hooking up a 1330 CV to 231...u-joint problem

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that a driveflange is a flat disc with splines that attaches to the pinion or output shaft along the drivetrain. What is shown in the picture. If that's what you mean by driveflange, my 9" doesn't have a flange. Nor does the driveshaft. It was from a...

    Ford 9" from a t-bird

No those are the right bolt patterns for stock, most likely not a swap in axle for the f-150. To the best of my knowledge, all the big bearings came with 31 spline shafts. There maybe a car they changed that on. If so someone will probably correct me. I was talking about being corrected on the...
