I think what you're missing is the variable (read: unknown) effect the axle placement will have on the springs. Stock springs are in front of the axle tube. This softens the spring. So yes, I'm wondering if 3.5" springs will feel stiffer with a front stretch.
Do you have any higher education...
I'm starting to parts collect for my wife's '98 4.7L XJ. For the street we want low lift and decent size tires, so we're thinking 285 or 295/75R16's and less than 4" of lift. I have experience with Rusty's 4.5" coils on our last '96 XJ but they are a little tall for this project since we'll be...
For example...
1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer dual diaphragm brake booster, 10.75" booster meant to stop a Jeep a good 1500-2000lbs heavier than the XJ.

Looking into this now actually. Rears will be disc brakes and front discs are off a late 80's Suburban with huge calipers so I'll need a vacuum booster and MC to match the axles. What's nice is that coming from a manual brake XJ, this thing has an exceptional pedal ratio = less braking effort...
Lol, not when you're pinned between a rock and a hard place. When you're moving boulders the size of Volkswagen bugs with your tires, there's quite a bit of stress on the track bar. That's why the track bar on my buggy is 2" solid bar.
On the street though, absolutely...less force on the...
Can we elaborate on which injectors, more on the adjustable MAP and is there a preferred fuel pressure regulator?
So far the responses are awesome, thanks fellas.
A few notes:
-Decided to go to a '96+ dual diaphragm brake booster and a different master cylinder. Still need to decide on what...

That kind of thinking, when applied to an entire vehicle's build, can add up to quite a bit of weight.
I totally agree with the 7/8 x 3/4 heim though.
Thanks for the info.
This is still using the Renix OBDI system though correct? I'm hoping to switch to OBDII for the ease of tuning for the bigger displacement.
1.50 x .250 wall is overkill unless you're running hydraulic assist (or full), or you're turning tires bigger than 38's. I understand the idea behind running all similar heims (which 7/8 by 7/8 heims are overkill too unless you're running 40's) but keep in mind all steering parts and at least...
Hey folks,
My wife and I owned a '96 XJ that we built a 4.7L stroker for but never installed. Sadly, we ended up selling the '96 and moved across the country thanks to Uncle Sam :us: but we kept the 4.7L. Fast forward a few months, I found a smoking deal on a very clean '89 XJ with a horribly...
