Another I need help quick thread

Dealership also sells the quick connect "kit", comes with a plastic throwaway plug that installs the O rings at the right spacing. Just remember to remove the old ones first. I think each connection has three O rings.

    brake issues...

Year? You say this began after the brakes were done. If you have drums/shoes in the rear the shoes might have been installed incorrectly. The leading shoe is longer than the trailing shoe. It's installed toward the front of vehicle. I've even seen two leading shoes on one wheel and two trailing...

    Fuel Pressure Regulator

The fuel line has three quick disconnect fittings. Sounds like yours is leaking at the FPR fitting. They should not be reused or reseated. I picked up mine at the dealer, or you might be able to get them cheaper on eBay.

    NP321 Linkage nut size

This might sound like a dumb question, but it's causing me problems, and I hope someone has the answer. Somehow I managed to misplace both the nuts that hold the transfer case linkage to the tranny. Only have one on there now, but it's the wrong thread pitch, so it won't cinch down. 4WD is...

I can't get my Manual tranny to seat.

I've had good results getting the AX-15 bellhousing back on using a jack on a block of wood. Get it lined up as well as you can first. Wth your back against the rear differential, use your legs to push the tranny up and in. Think I had one foot on the transfer case and one on the mount. Up...

    AX15 shifts kindof rough

That should tell you something, that is, the culprit isn't the tranny but the clutch. Clutch disk, cover, pilot bearing, and new slave cylinder will run you around $150. New flywheel is around $70 after core return. If you went to the trouble and expense to upgrade your old Peugot wth the...

    AX15 shifts kindof rough

It's just a guess since it's a second hand diagnosis, but you could have a bad clutch disk or pressure plate that's grabbing when it shouldn't. How many miles on the clutch? Another option for your AX-15 is buying a set of new synchro gears. I recently saw a set on ebay for $155. Even after...

    how to replace slave cylinder

I recommend you look up transmission threads on this forum to get some advice on the job. It's definiitely doable for anyone who can turn a wrench. I did mine in a driveway with stands and two floor jacks. Just watch out for the two reverse head torx bolts at 11:00 and 1:00 on the...

    slave cylinder compression

Thanks. I checked the Phoenix Systems website here: http://www.brakebleeder.com/technical.php Not sure if I'll drop $140 for the DIY model, though it's a great tool to have handy, even of it doesn't solve this problem.

    slave cylinder compression

You know, that's what I figured too, but the service manual says no (in bold type), and of course I always believe everything I read...Before I rip the damn thing out and put a new slave cylinder in, I'll try your advice. Never heard of a phoenix injector, but I'll google it. I'm guessing you...

    slave cylinder compression

I just put in a new flywheel, clutch cover and disk, and pilot bearing in my 1990 XJ (4.0/AX-15/NP231/D30). I did not replace the internal slave cylinder because the FSM warns replacement should only be done if the unit is bad. I get it all bolted back up and....nada. Clutch will not...

    Flywheel & ring gear

Thanks. Standard Flywheel (#1004) does come with ring gear and a $40.00 core charge. They tell me if I mess up the old one I can forget about getting that back. And of course no flywheel bolts, they're not even listed. Guess I'll hunt around tomorrow for them, or else use the old ones.
