Waggy 44 - high steer question

Ive been searching on this but cant find a definitive answer using the parts im thinking of. Hopefully, somebody here can help and maybe even provide a link to info that includes part numbers and/or specific stamping information. I have a 44 from an 84 Waggy. I've cut all of the brackets off...

    Any difference between 80-84 & 84+ Waggy front 44's?

thanks for the quick response. I have a solution to match up the lug patterns, i was just concerned that in most of the writeups ive read, nothing was ever mentioned about the late 80's 44 fronts. The gent on the phone assured me it was from an 87 or 88 so that should eliminate the vac disc...

    Any difference between 80-84 & 84+ Waggy front 44's?

I've been calling the local pick-n-pulls and found a Waggy 44 front from an 87 or 88 that i can pick up at a decent price but most of what I've read points to pulling one from an 80-84 model. Are there any downsides to the late 80's Waggy axles? It's going to be paired with an 8.8 in the rear...

    Need Your Feedback!! -Rear Bumper-

craftsmanship and detail is nice. I can't see any detail around the mounting method but I assume you researched and took heed of all of the other mounting advice on the forum. I probably wouldnt order one simply because Im not a huge fan of tube bumpers but if you like them and you like the...

    Front Driveshaft Too Short

Re: Front driveshaft to short same as the poster above... He repllaced the entire main tube. My understanding from talking to an auto mechanic student i know, is that cutting and splicing in a segment to your exisitng shaft is not feasible from a reliability, balance and/or safety standpoint.

    rear suspension travel.

I had a similar question recently and after closer inspection, i found that my rear shackles were hitting the bolts holding my stock bumper on which in turn, was preventing my shackle from rotating backwards. I spoke to the engineers at RE and they told me that they had seen this before and to...

    Front Driveshaft Too Short

Re: Front driveshaft to short was the Xj you pulled it from an automatic or 5-speed? If I recall, that makes a difference. I know that when I installed my SYE, the driveshaft I had purchased from ebay was too short as well but I attributed that to the fact that I have a 5spd. I took it to...

Front shocks are limiting droop, here's my idea, tell me if I'm way off base...

Check around the boards for vendors. I used DC4Wd but sadly, he's no longer in business due to some personal issues that are eating up his time.

Front shocks are limiting droop, here's my idea, tell me if I'm way off base...

All in all, great discussion everyone. I broke out the sawzall and addressed the bolts interfering with the shackles. I'll see if I can find some time to test out the rear flex and report back! thanks again for all the input!

^^^ that begs the question, where's the "sweet spot"? How much is too much? Where do you lose the benefit? Maybe I'm over analyzing the problem...

Front shocks are limiting droop, here's my idea, tell me if I'm way off base...

As for the clunking, its hard to say, every bump feels like someone threw a mini ramp under the rear tires so the ass end hops and bounces... The bolt is definintely limiting the travel of the shackles, I'll call RE and see if theyve seen this before... Update: RE says that they have seen...

here ya go.. The bolt for the rear bumper looks like it may be rpeventing the shackle from rotating backwards(and up) What do you think?
