What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

Not nice, GREAT! He did some work on the Kid's Subi and will be doing more on it. He gets two thumbs up from me!

Doubler, Teralow 4:1, atlas and so on

^^ Can not possible agree more. The Terra kit is a sure path to destruction. The 241OR is rated to run in a 3/4 ton truck. The 231 is a 1/2 ton truck box and that capability drops as soon as the 4:1 kit goes in. Think 1/4 ton best case.... If the decision to keep the 231 is made, then I...

**PICS** XJ/MJ Currie Anti-Rock sway bar kit. $300

FYI. I have one of these on the '98. Very easy to install. Even an Old Guy like me could get it done...

Doubler, Teralow 4:1, atlas and so on

For what it is worth.... Back in '02, I looked long and hard at the cost/benefit of converting a 231 to 4:1, SYE, 6 pinion planetary and the wide chain. The parts totaled up to 75% of the cost of a new 241OR. I went with the 241OR as, IMO, the Terra 4:1 gear set reduces the torque handling...

Need help jump starting a small business!

I'll chime in as well. Brought the Subi (mostly) back to life! Now, all the Kid has to do is get the ignition to work properly..................................................... I highly recommend.

    Radiator Recommendations

I run the Flex-a-lite all aluminium radiator and it made a tremendous difference. Pricey though..... http://www.amazon.com/Flex---lite-67108-Radiator-Cherokee/dp/B00AQWBGQE/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1404395172&sr=1-1&keywords=flex-a-lite+radiator+jeep+cherokee

Fix for low oil pressure XJ

Sorry but.... no on the PCM has to be told..... On the late model XJs the same sensors are used for both gauge sets. All that is required to update from the "Idiot Light" version to the full gauge set is to just plug in the new to you cluster... Data from the PCM is sent to the cluster via...

What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

Screwed up and did not take the pre measurements. Perhaps someone else could chime in? My bad entirely. I can understand why Chryco fused each circuit. Makes sense given the low operating voltages. Just for fun, I checked to see how my '98 ZJ is wired. It has a single 15 Amp fuse and a...

What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

Follow up on the headlight rewire project: On '97+ XJs, there are four 10 Amp fuses (F3, F4, F5, F18) associated with the headlights. One Fuse Per Filament..... I took current readings today and found this: Low Beam (two filaments) = 8.75 Amps High Beam (two filaments) = 10.34 Amps Based upon...

Need help jump starting a small business!

Clark, I can help you out with carburetors as I sort of grew up with them. We can talk about it on Tuesday when you are here bringing the Kid's Subi back to life... It is sort of funny that carbs now are the "arcane" method of fueling an engine... Doesn't seem so long ago..................

    Recommen A Torque Wrench

I use both Proto and Sears. My inch pound is a Proto and the foot pound is the Sears. I have been carrying the Sears around with me since 1973. On the plus side, Sears will do the calibration on the wrench for a reasonable charge.
