    aw4 running temps?

    I just installed a trans temp gauge in my 89. I was surprised to see the temp get way up to 230*f as I was climbing up out of Borrego Springs. Not towing or heavy load. Engine temp was 210*f, which is good. So i am not sure if my cooler is clogging or what. Trans ran good, you wouldn't know...

    RENIX stumbling from idle to 3ooo rpm

    Check your coil and ICM. I've had loose fitting pins at ECU cause all sorts of things. Removing the ECU and letting it lay on the floor and moving harness around when driving is how I found my problems.

    Closed system to open whilst retaining closed rad?

    Has anyone installed rad cap in a closed system plumbing? I want to ditch the expansion tank but I have a new 3 core all metal rad that I want to keep. So maybe a Moroso or similar type of t fitting with a rad cap provision inline of top hose. Any suggestions?

    Renix egr issue?

    I bet the steel tube on the EGR valve that supplies the exhaust back pressure to the Transducer is plugged. Remove the valve and try to blow thru that tube. If its clogged up, carb spray and a thin wire to ream it out...

    Check the MAP sensor plug and CTS and IAT connectors. Unplug and plug them in a few times to clear corrosion off.

    Sorry for the old thread, but are the tilt and non tilt shafts the same length? My tilt steering shaft is 23.5 inches bolt to bolt.

    Check the connector at the firewall for the cps. I've had to unplug and plug back in this connector a few times on a no start. If your tach isn't moving whilst cranking, cps is suspect. Good luck Also there was an upgraded wire harness that bypasses the loom and goes cps directly to ECU

    I would go to the pick a part or pull and get the heat shield off a grand cherokee and fit it as required. They also have heat shielding under the carpet above cat and muffler you might want.

    So I'm leaving the jobsite in Palm Desert for my 110 mile commute home. Doing freeway speeds the temp gauge rises to the last hash mark before the red. I kick the heater full blast which usually has some good affect, but not this time. It never went into the red (above 230) but wouldn't drop any...

    You probably got air in the system when you filled it. Also check the H block for 134a type and aux. fan comes on.

    Bumpy Idle, ways to narrow it down?

    Make sure the basics, plugs and wires and cap and rotor are in good shape. unplug the o2 sensor and see if it runs better.
