O.k guys don't any of you own a scanner? Not to sound rude but I keep reading topic of problems that can be fixed with a scanner. Some 95's are OBD II and everything from 96 is. If you look at the prices the low cost ones are the same price as the parts your throwing at the problems. Most shops...
Check the evap system. Sounds like a hose on the evap may have a crack or broke off. The evap system take the fumes from the tank and holds them in a charcoal canister then sends them to the intake to be burned. If your not seeing fuel (liquid) but smilling it then I would start with the evap...
Had similar problem with my 88 xj. Did the same thing changed everything and the kitchen sink just to find that there is a sensor on the rear of the engine which cause the problem. Found this by looking at old service bulletin.
Had shop replace it and bye bye problem
Heat will also make NOx go up... So try it not so hot. Test it in the morning get it warm not hot and see if that works. Yes there are two type of cat's Two way ( CO and HC ) and Three Way ( CO, HC and NOx ). Remember not to put the three way on backwards. I've seen guys put a new one on...

Does someone know how to change the bearing in the rear axle. We have a 88 Jeep Cherokee,
IS it as easy as using as a slide hammer and pop it out and then putting it back in, or is there some other way of doing it?
If anyone has done this can you let me know which is the best / easist way..(...

It's not the cost of the Dyno but what I call "COST OF LIVING". The price of the dyno has falling sometime ago. The cost to live in the Bay area has not. When I drive to the Bay Area I fill up with gas before I leave since I know that the gas will cost alot more there.
If you don't want to pay...
When I was 16 my VW Bug did the samething. Turned out to be the Coil. When it did it the coil would be very hot to the touch. When it cooled off it would run again.
I replaced my water pump with a stock one but I used a high flow thermostat and now the temp never makes it to 210. From my understanding a stock water pump is bullet proof. Talked with the guys that work on my jeep (tired of working on my own jeep) and they said to stick with the stock one.
hey I got a set of Ranger tires and wheels in the garage if you need to BORROW them. Yes I would like them back. I'm in Fresno so let me know if you need them.
I'm taking the Family camping at Boot Lake and thinking of doing the California Back Country Discovery Trail since we plan on going to Oregon also. So I need some feed back on the California Back Country Trail.
i got one of those CD's just to come and find out it's a copy. It only $10 but I was not to happy. That was the second CD I bought on e-bay that was a copy (MapSend was the first). Just CD no manuels, CD case or on-line support.
O.K let cut to the point.
I'm a Smog Tech and trust me I look to see if you have the LEGAL OBD II Cat.
I've failed many people for what they think is legal. Here is a site that you can use to find out which part is legal and which is not. This is the same place that all of use Smog Tech use...
