    Turbo 400 slipping in reverse

Hi All, So I bought an '87 Chevy G20 conversion van for mountain bike trips and such and found that reverse gear has some issues. I've read up on a ton of forums and get all sorts of directions to go, figured I'd try and narrow it down here. Reverse appears to be slipping. On flat land I can...

    The 4500 MJ Build

Awesome build! Good work you guys, looking forward to seeing what it turns into from here. Glad this came back up to the top when I happened to be on.

    Air conditioning controls

Cracked-butt, it's entirely possible the fan is worn out and needs replacing. Does it work at all, like on vent? I've replaced a few fans before - they worked great until one day they stopped working...something happened to the motor. I know on Renix era rigs it isn't hard to replace, just 3...

School me on my Renix AC system

Awesome stuff guys, thanks! Really appreciate the concise replies. I'll try and go through the FSM next time I'm able to hobble to where I stashed it and hopefully everything else will be straight forward from there. Just wanted to confirm the basics before I go ordering things. Just to clarify...

School me on my Renix AC system

Ok, so I have a 1990 XJ I picked up to drive while I recover from leg surgery (my DD is a manual, this XJ is an auto) and need to replace some AC components. It was in a front end wreck and the condenser was damaged and leaked out all the refrigerant. I have a condenser that's been sitting in my...

Can you help me work on my car this Saturday(10/13)?

Roger. Cool, that sounds about like what I was thinking. I would definitely like to see a copy if you have it on PDF. I have the Subaru manual that's floating around, but it sucks, frankly. It is, but not big enough for the drive. I appreciate the offer, but I couldn't afford the gas to get...

Can you help me work on my car this Saturday(10/13)?

Well, I gathered that from Google. But what does it provide? Like schematics and instructions on how to do various things? Oh, and how long of a job do you think the belt is?

Can you help me work on my car this Saturday(10/13)?

It's looking like I'm going to hold off the job for a later day. The weather isn't going to help. Guess I'll be holding off till the next dry weekend. Forgive me for my ignorance, BPB, but what's an alldata log?

Can you help me work on my car this Saturday(10/13)?

Thanks for the offer regardless! I've done my share of reading on the subject, but having the option for any random issues is always handy. It's a 2.2, the EJ22 or whatever they call it. From what I've read it sounds like I might be able to get away with reusing the old one. I figured I'd...

Can you help me work on my car this Saturday(10/13)?

So long story short, I broke some more bones and had surgery last week on my shoulder. I also bought a Subaru Impreza a few weeks ago, and I want to try and get some service work done on my new (to me) car before the weather gets too harsh. School is only getting more intense, and the clock is...

Oh come on, XJ's have plenty of torque! With the right gearing anyways.

Front Axle shaft seals Labor hours? Mitchell/Alldata/Experience?

Is that how shops generally quote people? I would think a shop could do the job in 4 hours max, if nothing is rusted on, easy.

Front Axle shaft seals Labor hours? Mitchell/Alldata/Experience?

I used an old t-shirt in the gears and a screw driver in the driveshaft to pop the case out. To get it back in I line everything up the best I can and start beating on it with a rubber shot filled mallet. My case has extra preload on the sides too, so in theory it should be harder to get back in...
