Hmmm....x2. This could be why I lose airflow after awhile and then I hear what sounds like a door closing and the air flows freely again.

I took a med-large bastard file and just smoothed those babies out. Sure, I took some of the tolerance away, but I fixed that with the little clips that come in the box with the new pads. No welding necessary.

I did not have to do this on my 99 classic w/ ac. It took some wiggling but the oem fan came out and the new VDO fan went in. 1 hour job.

Sorry, it is not the condensor, the compressor. I actually don't know if it's bad, or if it just spun the bearing in the clutch. The pulley is locked up, which is what fried the belt. I like your ideas zluster...
