    2JZGTE swap this summer...

Child9, are you going to be in Ennis this weekend? I was planning on going. If you're there I'll drop by and say hi.

99 Heater core - minimum pieces that need to come out?

I just slid the console slightly forward and lifted the rear first up and over the parking brake. Is it the accumulator/drier line? The a/c accumulator/drier is a part I always replace when I open an a/c system, shouldn't be expensive. I think I paid $17 for one off of rock auto and in a pinch...

99 Heater core - minimum pieces that need to come out?

Yes, there are two main bolts on either end of the dash down by the knee bolster, studs or bolts (can't remember) along the top under the windshield and a bracket in the center under the center console. Once all those are out then the dash will pull away from the firewall and you can swing it...

99 Heater core - minimum pieces that need to come out?

I've done the heater core / evaporator on my '99 and my sisters 2001. Neither of them required removed the steering column or entire dash. I simply removed the front passenger seats, removed all the dash mounting hardware and swung the dash out as far as I could on the passenge side. It was a...

I've resolved my manifold leak as confirmed by spray test around the gasket (several times now). However I still have a rough idle after it reaches operating temperature. It idles fine and runs best before reaching operating temperature (in open loop). I'm not sure yet what is going on when it...

I've lost my mind.. or an MP90 on a stroker

A vacuum 1-way check valve (my '99 has one stock) combined with the stock vacuum reservoir should be ample to prevent loss of vacuum at wot.

Too late. Tackled the replacement on Friday night. I have pics I'll upload, but you can clearly see where the flange sealer never got a chance to seal. Could have been user error or, like cobra said, possibly not a true mating surface. I went back with a Gibson gasket, copper gasket spray and a...

Hey, I was happy with 5.5 lbs of boost, but hopefully fixing this leak will net me a little more boost as well :-). If nothing else it will make the thing drivable again.

Redid the intake manifold leak test with non flammable brake cleaner instead of ether this time. Failed miserably on cylinders 3 & 5. Looks like I indeed have an intake manifold seal leak. I know what I'm doing on saturday!

Thing is I'm still able to generate 5.5 lbs of boost... Couldn't do that with a leaking manifold, right?... Based on cobras experience with an unplugged 1/4" fitting I would think not.

Thanks for the response OGS. Although, now you've got me wondering now whether I've got a horrible vacuum leak given that my idle vacuum never gets above 7.5 in/hg and yours is at 12-14". I may pull the manifolds over the weekend, re-seal and put the shorter studs in. Maybe I do have a leak...
