Right. Think of it as a graph with, opposing, decending and asending lines (X). One for lift height the other for tire size. It would be dumb to run really small tires with a huge lift (and visa versa) because you would max out your travel before you tires come close to anything. Everyone asks...

I think you are confusing lift and travel. Yes at a point you need more lift to add travel but many huge trucks do not have as much travel as something well designed and lower. Just relaying what I was told by the toyota guys on PBB. The mods you talk about do not sound very involved (cutting, grinding, and welding) What I understand is that there is a 8" housing with 5x4.5 30 sp axles and, with some easy work, you can run a 8" E-locker dropout in it. Link to PBB FAQ

According to the faq on pirate; there is a 8", 30spline, 2wd housing and you can run a Taco E-locker dropout with it. :thumbup:

Hey "themud", how common were E-locker dropouts?

Has anybody seen these? I cannot seem to find a picture of them. I think they might be cool for a XJ buggy. :edit: Found a pic but they do not look like full length MJ bedsides. I guess he is just calling them beadsides but they can be attached to any rear qtr pannel.
