What Saudade is referring to is what are the other ECMs not doing?
With the 99 ECM you have proven fuel/ pump and electrical system/CPS and cam sensor. That suggests something wrong those ECMs. Will they sell the 99 ECM?

I like the Truetrac. A helical differential. About 550 bucks. It does require a reset up of backlash and preload. So bearings (rebuild) at this time would be beneficial.

I grab these kind of parts from the local pick and pull. I put the part in temporarily to test it and then have a known good spare. Last PCM was about 65 bucks. The sand dune XJ has a nice little parts store under the back seat and in the motor home.

Chances are its the 1-2 solenoid. BEFORE you do any part buying do the solenoid test. An ohm meter at the TCU which is located above the gas pedal. A easy search will give you procedure. It takes a couple hours to change out the solenoids. They are under the tran pans. IF that is the problem...
