I think a problem a lot of guys see and don't realize is that after 140k miles or even north of 100k miles the timing chains on these engines are pretty much shot. I know a couple guys who replaced everything, water pump, radiator, hoses, etc with good stuff and still had engines that ran...
When I put that HP 30 in the 2wd 2000 (CA emissions), the yoke was maybe 1/4" away from the down pipe. It was quiet until you took a right hand turn then it self clearanced. Ended up having to add clearance to it. Just something to keep in mind.
Does the PSC pump flow more than a stocker? I'm still running an oem chrysler pump on mine.
One thing I learned from Dustin Webster is that the hydraulic tractor oil from amsoil works great for power steering also.
How many miles on the engine? If it's north of 100k, your timing chain is probably junk. Check it, it can cause the engine to run hotter than normal also.
Durango box has an internal spacer that needs to be removed to get the same turning radius. 3 bumps on the end cap need to be ground flush, and there's a spacer ring at the other end. Been down this path, still cracked frame rail on 33's. My solution was a stock box and a 1.5" 6" ram...
