During a recent trip to the ugly big city for a doctor visit for the wife, we availed ourselves of the scales in the office and what do I find? At 50 I'm bang on my HS weight 30+ years ago of 174lbs./6'2". I have been over 200lbs. in younger years but since moving to the country fulltime last...
I purchased the Sherman panels for my 94 from the Canadian distributor, Cross Canada Parts...
I don't have them in yet but they do fit very nicely and as I am told they are handmade panels as opposed to "cookie cutter" metal. They are a nice heavy gauge that seems to match the floor (or what...
Might as well throw in my .02Cdn. I have three XJs, an 89 laredo, a 93 country and a 94 sport. The 89 is fairly normal...4.0/AW4/242 with pw/pdl/pulse wipers etc and no air.. but the other two are a bit odd. The 93 is a Country 4.0/AX15/231/air/tilt wheel/pulse/cruise/crank windows and dealer...
There's a good supply of power antennas as close as your local wreckers. The power antenna from mid-80s/mid-90s GM products are a bolt in and plug in for an 89 XJ. Mine came from an 89 Olds and it snapped in like it was built for it. All I had to fab was a lower bracket from some steel strapping...
I put a bag of rust under my pillow and the "new floorpan fairy" came...oh yeah, +$$$
I just got my new floorpans from Cross Canada Parts (Sherman in the U.S.)...
Not even remotely fitted but still lookin' good...
A bit of an a$$ rape @ $230Cdn. as opposed to $132U.S.D but a real...
...and here they are
The little piggy in the middle is a blown-engine 89 parts car, the piggy on the left is the 93 beater I'm driving and will soon become my "tractor" and last but I hope not least is the piggy on the right. Its a 94 sport I just picked up on the weekend and will be the new...
I have been using Sensatracks for a few years now and I love them but they definitely give a more "truck" type of ride than the stock shocks. I swear by them...you may swear at them. My .02Cdn.
And he got me today. Check out this pic of my LH steering knuckle. I was changing balljoints and look what came out with it.
I can't ever recall seeing a balljoint come apart like that :dunno:
Do both axles have the same gear ratio?, mileage? Personally I would keep the LS and add GC discs the sell the open diff with the 10" setup to pay for the disc parts...or get an 8.25 and swap in discs...or...
Eagle, I checked and the gear is good...we can rule that out. MarkH, I tried your fix, no corrosion but all the screws were a bit loose...and it still didn't work :dunno: . I checked the codes again and as far as that goes it just spit out 55 and that's it.
I guess it is time to dig a bit...
