    High Idle

I have seen the cloud! Use to work at a marina and come fall, it was time to FOG engines. We'd pour a can in the carb and rev it up and shut`er down the cloud would carry all the way across the lake. Come next spring we fire up an boat that had been in storage and send another cloud across the...

    High Idle

Have yet to try seafoam. Have used it in other applications with success. Got some at home and will try it tonight. Is it like fogging an engine. Do I just pour a little in the throttle body? Or just add it to the tank?

    High Idle

Learning to live with it. It really sucks this time of year with icy roads. I have to put it in 4hi just to keep from doing brake stands when the roads are wet and icy. I will look into the IAC possibly being for an 89 vs. an 88. It seems to go away when the temp is below 20 degrees F and above...

    High Idle

While out of town, a friend delivered my `88 renix blessed xj to my son so he would have a vehicle to drive while home on leave from his 2nd tour in Iraq. His Blazer was being eqpt. with a 383 stroker. Anyway. My friend got to experience my off and on, 2700 rpm idle. As the xj was idling high...

What's the stupidest thing you ever did that you would admit to?

I had just replaced the lube in both diff's, the transfer case and changed the oil. All of which fit nicely into a new sealable waist oil pan. I then placed said oil pan in the roof rack to get it out of the way and do a little under vehical inspection for worn and broken componants. Satisfied...

Renix Idle, untill a difinivitive solution is deternined...

I have replaced the TPS, IAC and MAP sensors. All of which seemed to correct this issue. If only briefly. Go figure, An F150 fan, drove my `88 Pioneer and almost ran it through his fence. He started it up and the idle would not stop climbing. Major issue on icy roads!!! While the engine was...

TPS problems (Got 2 sensors, same problem)

I have an 88 and replaced the TPS. all was fine for awhile and the high idle returned. of all times in the winter. I had to ride the brakes and the rear wheels would push me down the road while the front tires slid on the ice. I took it to shop to see if they could tell me what was going on with...
