How thick of steel would you say is thick enough if I were to weld something to the base of the Jeep as a bracket?

Yeah, but what if I want to put in some heated leather WJ seats some day? It will never happen but what if? See, that's the problem with Jeeps, too many "if"s. If I went the bracket route I could conceivably just use a flat piece of steel, drill 8 holes and bolt it together.

OK, maybe hillbilly heaven is Indiana? No, I have a '94 and I have 97 ZJ seats. I took the seats apart and there was no way to get the ZJ seats into my '94 XJ. The front two bolts are not the same and the holes for the frame rails and the seats are not even close. This forum for the details...
