Ok I have a 1990 XJ with a 4.0 non-HO(block casting number 1987-90......53005535) with a hole in the block. Exhaust manifold is good, intake is good, all accesories are good, head is questionable I have a donor motor HO ( block casting number 1999-04......53010449) block is good, intake appears...

I would check the socket with a test light, just to see if you have juice, then check the fuse panel to see if that fuse spot has juice,and if not start working your way through the wire testing it and looking for breaks. Thats how I would go at it -Steve

Tach - small portable gps- speed-o -Steve

-Dash is pulled apart, so it goes back nice. -The old cluster area is going to be a tach, and speedo. maybe a spot for a small gps like an etrex in the middle -I went with these gauges because I got the Summit brand Tach, oil, water, ammeter, autometer fuel level, and 2 poly racing seats for...

I decided to go to aftermarket gauges, but they werent going to fit in the stock cluster area, so I started thinking and this is what I came up with. Its just roughed in right now but you get the idea. So what do you all think?

The 44 is about the only thing keeping it from the firing squad. -Steve

Check the ujoint to see if there grease fitting.

I haven't had this problem with an XJ, but I have had it in a few other vehicles. It could be the Vibes, but it could also be a U-joint that was a little on the tired side, and the angle is compoundint the problem. It could just need a u-joint or some grease. Its a place to start -Steve
