I put a 97 4.0 motor in a 88XJ. I didn't use the 88 harness at all and hacked the 97 harness, removing all non engine management circuits. Motor runs good but it has sometimes sputters and idols rough. It comes and goes. When I cut up the 97 harness I cut out the OBD2 reader plug. I know stupid...
Straightened the anti-rock arms. Made 1/4" plates to beef it up. Its just temporary to make sure its not going to hit again.
I shortened the links turnbuckles 3 inches.
Its welded to the coil bucket on both sides. Then welded to the plate about an inch above that. Both the can and plate are welded on the thickest part of the whole unibody the coil bucket. Its should be strong enough. But ive been wrong before.....lol. I'll be watching this area carefully for...
Got the bumps out today without taking off the front coils. Because of the way I designed the fronts it allows them to come out from the top. Worked good except for the driver side. Had to pull off the master cylinder.
