Thats kind of the main reason I dont want to fix it up... I'd hate to do all the work and the body could be bent. It really doesnt look too bad though, it doesnt seem like it is bent. So far I've spoken to 1 guy who's interested and he says he would pay $500 as is. I feel like I could definitely...
I recently wrecked the front end of my 96' 2WD 4.0 XJ. The damage is as follows:
Grill
Bumper
Radiator
Steering Box
Airbag blew
possibly more
I didnt have time to fix it when it happened, so I got a new car and cant afford both. New car is too reliable compared to the XJ, so I've pretty much...
about to replace my gearbox does anybody have any suggestions, something with really tight handling? not necessarily good for off roading ( my xj is 2wd). not from autozone either
I cranked for a long time, and im positive its not the fuel pump or the injectors I bought a can of started fluid today just to check and nothing. I cleared the codes and nothing I replaced the map sensor itself and still got nothing. The sensor is mounted on the throttle body so there no vac...
Yesterday I was on may way home from work and my acclerater stopped working and and finaly my car died. I put 3 gallons of gas in it because I thought I was just of of gas. It still wouldnt start. Its cranking but not firing at all. Check engine light came on. hooked it up to the obd II code...
It sounds like you are describing the same exact problem i had, a loose timing chain. I dont really know what to tell you as far as testing it to see if it is the t chain or not. but that would be the first thing i would check. if that is what it is then your gonna have to get in there and...
well I actually have a driveshaft thats the perfect length but its dented and it wobbles too much @ anything over 35 mph and its the shaft thats longer not the yoke. I searched all the junk yards close to my city and cant find a decent one. Do you think the extra seal will help?
I put a different rear axle on my 2wd xj and the diff. housing is further back than the stock, so my stock driveshaft is too short. The yoke still fits in the transmission but it leaks. I recently got a new driveshaft but its only about 1/2 an inch longer so it still leaks but slightly. The...
I didnt mean a minute, its more like a second. all i know once its hot it doesnt really lagg but if im at a stop light and then i hit the gas it takes a second to respond, when its cold it does the same thing but it the rpms get really high in the lower speed
Also, after i start it up, if i take it on the intersate and then get off, once its not cold, it runs a lot better and doesnt bog down quite as much but it still jumps if i go from stop to go too quick
I have a 96 xj with about 130 miles. I recently put 4.10 gears on it because I just got some 30in tires. I've been noticing lately that when I start it up ill hit the gas and it takes a minute to respond. The engine revs up but doenst go for about 1 sec, sometimes it revs up then jumps and...
