My 99XJ did this right after I got it for a good 3 months. Everything tested out fine plugs, o2 etc no vacuum leaks etc. It would stumble after starting up but if i gave it gas it would come to life just fine. Sometimes it would flat out stall. I pulled the fuel rail off and replaced all 12...
First, Does the blend door move easily by hand with the module removed, if so try my next option.
Second, take the module apart, make sure you leave the gears in place. Remove the motor in the assembly and spin it a few times by hand to free it up, (condensation can seize or dirty the...
As far as i know the 99 has a electric blend door for the heater. I have a 99. The little motor motor in the servo box can get corroded from condensation, and needs to be taken apart and cleaned (to clean mine It was simply just spinning it by hand to free up the internals). I drilled a few...
When I pulled my valve cover on my 99 with 210k on the clock everything looked clean as it should. To answer your question just change your oil frequently I dont know what the po put in it at first but ive run castrol then rotella and now I run mobile 1 5w30.
You can always stick a garden hose on the heater core output and back flush the system, I've done this by switching the hose from pipe to pipe over and over many times to agitate and free up blockages within the core.
I have a 99, only working on 4 is the blower resistor failure.
I had the...
You answered your own question for the most part. "fuel pressure isn't strong"
What year is your rig; as far as i know the 96 and down XJs have a fuel filter that is external of the tank.
Your problems sound like what my 96 had, it would have fuel pressure until there was a load, and then...
Mine went at 200K and I had my flywheel turned, it didn't show real signs of wear and tear but seriously, it was out might as well of cleaned it up. I would only replace yours if you HAVE TO. I had mine turned for like 15$ and it looked brand new.
Basically you want your engine running at the needed 210F +/- at that temp XXw-30 oil is at the right thickness to run properly. Too cold and too hot are never good, unless compensated for.
To play it safe you can always go to the dealer, they don't totally rip your arm off for this sensor. As for sensor longevity I have 215k on my stock 99 CPS. If you can't find one at any of those online mopar sites, I would deal with napa any day over autozone or advanced.
