Finally solved my vibe issue. Simple as can be: I swapped the (actually good as new) tranny mount for another one from a different manufacturer. And see there: No more annoying vibes, when i put the Jeep in gear. So conclusions are: 1. Different brand's tranny mounts seem to have different...
So just FYI:
I tried loosening the header to downpipe bolts, because i noticed the downpipe being really really close to the oil pan and so it seemed likely that this might be the source of the vibes. Well...it wasn't. Other then snapping one of the bolts (of course) and finding a crack in my...
I have the exact same issue with my '99. Engine mounts are new and transm. mount is new. I even tried different engine mounts (Brown dog, oem Mopar, oem aftermarket) but the rough idling still remains. I also played around with loosening and tightening bolts. That made it a little bit less...
...and they look better...imo. But you have to be carefull, if you need full tire coverage to keep your rig road legal. The napier flares are a few inches less wide on the front, so be sure to match flares and backspacing of the wheels right!

Haha....i know exactly what you're talking about.
My XJs don't fit into a regular german street scene either.
(The blue 94' and the red 99' are mine...the green 01' is a friend's rig.)
And again, Jeeperjohn is right. I totally forgot about the special status of vehicles owned by US military personnel.
But still it will attract the cop's attention, and might increase the risk of annoying and unnecessary police controls.
Ok... but still everything you mentioned provides a...
No it's not. It is a light device, added to the vehicle that has never been available that way from the manufacturer. If you add lights to your vehicle in Germany, they have to fullfill some criteria.
1. It has to match the general law about motorvehicles in public traffic, called StVZO...
German streets can be very narrow... :laugh3:
Couldn't resist to add two nice shots of my XJ from our weekend in Fuerstenforest this spring.
(My XJ is completely street-legal too...did cost some money to get everything legalized of course...but i didn't need any friend's favours for that...
Here's my '94 with 3.55 and 5 speed manual with 4" lift and the 33x10,5 BFGs. (Not to forget the Napier fenderflares which give a lot of clearance for the 33's)
