    new idea for hi-mount alternator....

Thanks ehall! I was thinking of some kind of pulley but also was considering keeping the alternator (backup) in its original place and running a second one in the "new" position (main alternator)-but thats another subject all together. Thanks again.

    new idea for hi-mount alternator....

ehall, If I ditch the A/C system in my 2001 and replaced it with the alternator (bracket from a TJ), this should fit right? Since I'm in the PNW I rarely use A/C (it does not work anyways) and would like to protect the alternator (went thru two already). It appears the 2000-2001 TJ and XJ setup...

    removal of fender brace?

I have Rigidco's front bumper for over 3 years and have removed those horn holder with no problems. Bashed the front end numerous times and can't see any cracking that you mentioned. I agree with the above statement that it can't provide any serious structural support. Take them off.

best xj aftermarket bumper for mounting strength?

When I installed my front bumper I also added an aftermarket trans cooler with flexible hoses-fits thru that opening with no problem. If you have a stock cooler it may be difficult since the lines are metal.

    On board air question

x2 fast and easy-I air up my own tires, not everyone else on the trail. As everyone knows, it can run air tools too for trail use(read:not tearing down the engine or major overhaul, just stuff to get you on your way). I had to reseat a bead with it recently as well.

    power steering pump options

I hope the oem pump comes with the plastic reservoir attached for that price. If you go with PSC or any other brand make sure you get new clips and o-ring for the reservoir. I would check and make sure the hi pressure line doesn't look bad or else replace that too. make sure you get the right...

    97+ Fog light switch

Agreed. I wired a set of offroad lights the same way as the above link and had to replace the stock switch twice in the past 5 years. I could have use a cheaper and simple switch but I like the stock look.
