    Currie XJ HD Steering Sys

What about Rusty's Steering conversion kit? Less Expensive than currie but also not as heavy duty. Standard tie rod ends vs heim joints?

    Currie XJ HD Steering Sys

When turning the wheel left primarily (regardless of moving forward or not) but also with suspension travel. It started this summer when off road (deep snow now) which would aggrivate but with driving it around the sound would go away. Now pretty much all the time and now a clunk has...

    Currie XJ HD Steering Sys

Opinions on the Currie HD front end? Is this something I can install on my 98 XJ and have a shop align or just buy the parts and have the 4x4 shop install? Also, I have not lifted this jeep yet but the front end is making noise and want to upgrade to HD. Tax time! but also considering a ZJ...

    Shifting the rear axkle

Whenever I look at my xj (and ponder bigger wheels) I can't help but wonder if I could shift the rear axle back an inch or so remove the rear bumper wrap around I could run atleast 31 without much if any fender trimming. Any thoughts? Right now there is no lift but considering a 2.5 to 3" lift...

    Rear Shock bushing

I have a 96 xj 6cyl with 125,000 miles. It also has no lift and 30 x 9 bfg's. The left rear shock mount (on the axle) is clearly moving (fresh metal). It appears to missing the bushing. Is the Jeep safe to drive for a day or two?

    intake mainfold switch

Any thoughts on switching out a 4.0 '98 intake manifold for a 99+ mainfold? I have read that the later manifold is larger and switching dramatically improves horsepower. When doing this do other things need to be changed as well?

    boring throttle body

I have read about boosting horsepower by boring out the restrictor lip of the throttle body. There is a company that sells rebuilt throttle bodies (with the restrictor removed) and you send in your old throttle body for a refund (1/2 price.) This sounds relatively simple can't this be done...

    Bumpers vs toe point?

What size tank? I have seen 4 and 2 gallon tanks. would the 2 gallon fill 4 30" tires on 15" rims? More than once?

    Bumpers vs toe point?

I need recvery points! I currently have 98 xj basically stock 30" wheels no lift, no skids. Stock bumpers with rear reciever hitch. Should I replace new front bumper vs just adding recovery points to the current bumper? If new bumper what is the best deal balanceing quality with price (not...

    high clearance

I currently have 30" tires which for the stuff I am doing should be enough (for now...don't tell my wife.) I do live in colorado and we occassionaly see snow here and I was on a trail the other day(moody hill) and had to back down (oh the shame...) because of what must have been slippage. I know...

    Fuel pump

98 xj 4.0 115000 miles new fuel pump still starts hard. turn key to on several times till fuel pump sound changes starts "first time." otherwise you need to attempt 2- 4 starts before it starts then runs great. Is turning the key on off several times hard on anything (is it okay to do this...

    high clearance

Have 4.0 auto and engine upgrades throttle body boring and spacer, high flow air intake, ingintion coil, and headers. Was looking at 5- 6 inch lift but this won't be necessary until I need to replace my 30" wheels with larger. Is upgrading to a locking diff a time consuming project (also my...

    high clearance

I currently have 98 xj (just bought less than a month ago) and is has no lift and 30 tires on 15 rims. It measures 8.5 inches to the front diff. Is this reasonable? I am trying to prioritize upgrades and thinking power/engine upgrades first then suspension. Don't have lockers and think this...

    high clearance

This might be a simple question but when checking out a new trail and "high clearance required" is stated what is "high clearance?" And similarly, where do you measure this clearance height at?
