Alright so i just had a new remanufacuture 4.0 installed and completely redid the cooling system before that.. i mean everything. The new motor has 50 miles on it.
Electric fan turns on properly when the a/c is turned on.
The cooling system is open removed closed system components.
Radiator...
Im temporarily running the filler to a sealed ammo can on the inside. Once I stretch it ill be junking the gas tank for a cell that will be partially pushed up vertically into the floor right behind the axle.
About 5/8". I tacked one side down to the table with a piece of 1 1/2 under it. Then beat on the opposite side. Its 3/16 and still didnt take much to bend it.
When I find more time im going to cut away a little more of the fender and then rap the bumper tube around it. Then, weld in a small fender flare and attach it to the new fender tubing.
I lift the hatch to put the pin in. You can see the hole in the fifth picture.
The plan was to make a new tank skid that attached to the bottom of the bumper but after it was built I decided that I want to stretch it and put a fuel cell in to give it more clearance. The cell will still be...
Thanks!
Im sure the boxes will take a beating but hold up as much as needed. Ill also be adding a short tube from the corner (under the light) and mounting it to the new box.
Ill also be adding plate to the rear quarters soon tying it all together.
Later I added a plate here for support like pictured above.
Next will be to cut more off the fenders, add tubing to the sliders then weld tube in around the fenders to make a small fender flare and attach to the bumper.
Im also in the process of making a removable receiver style winch...
The goal was to gain clearance and to be functional.
I had to cut the tube cause my bender wouldn't do an S bend that tight.
Then, to get rid of this.
After adding the bottom tube. I figured, it was in the way too much so it had to go.
3/16 plate was welded to the inside of...
It is. I ran out of gas when I went over it the second time. It has a very solid route weld under it. Its been that way for two years now. Ive been meaning to grind it out and go over it again. Maybe ill go do that now that im thinking about it. I hate looking at it every time I crawl under it.
I agree. The problem is, the hi-lift foot has that lip that goes up on the end. When Its jacked up on the slider without the extension it only sits on that lip which made it VERY unstable. The extension is way longer then it needs to be and only the minimum amount necessary should be used.
I needed to jack up my Jeep today to fix a few things so I broke out the hi lift. It scares the **** out of me every time I use it so I made a few improvements.
I had a few goals in mind before I started.
1-Keep it simple
2-Make it so it fits the hi lift without any modifications to the jack...
