    Tranny Problems

Eagle, Are you sure about this? The AX-15 I am looking at on eBay from Pheonix Reman. Transmissions says it only fits 1990-2001. Will this tranny fit an 88 and a 96 H.O.?! That would be fantastic!!

    Tranny Problems

Hi everyone. I have a problem. My manual 5sp Peugot tranny just went out on my 88 XJ 4.0L w/ 182K. Naturally, one would just say get a new tranny. Number one, I don't know which tranny to get because from what I understand, I do not want another Peugot. The other delima is the fact that I soon...

    '99 Wheel Bearing rebuild

Yeah, I am referring to the "non-rebuildable" bearings themselves. Is it possible?

    '99 Wheel Bearing rebuild

Has anyone ever rebuilt the front wheel bearings in a '99 xj? I guess they're probably the same all the way down to '97. If anyone has, please share your experience. Thanks.

    Engine Swap

I have decided to buy a wrecked jeep of a newer model year and swap everything over into my 88. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which year would be the best and why. I think I remember hearing that the 95s seemed to produce more power than other years.

    Engine Swap

I'm glad I intrigued you, but I really am not concerned whether you like what I am doing or not. If you don't have any constructive information on the topic, there is no need for a reply.

    Engine Swap

I am looking to put a V8 in my 88 xj w/ manual tranny to replace the stock 4.0. Has anyone ever done this, or does anyone have any ideas to help me get started. I am expecting to have to replace the tranny too, but I would like to still use my NP 231 t-case. I am naturally wanting to stay as...

    4.0 Rebuild Questions

Thanks for the responses, guys. It is blowing alot of oil into the air filter; again. I cleaned the valve cover and replaced the vent hoses I don't know how long ago, less than 50K. It is also leaking the oil at the oil filter adapter and front main seal, and of course, the plug. I know that it...

    4.0 Rebuild Questions

I have an 88 w/ 175K that's blowing lots of oil. I have decided to rebuild the motor this summer and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or tips they could share w/ me. I have never done this before, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated and helpful. Also, does anyone know the...

    Pitman arms

Although I agree that you probably don't need one, the best place to get one is eBay. There's a guy from Rough Country that sells them for $40 I think.

LCA Modification - Grinder - More Flex!

Rear Shackle Tip Here is an interesting piece of info I learned from a friend of mine. The stock leaf shackles off a 73-87 (and maybe others?) Chevy van are the exact same width as on an xj, but are about 1" longer. They probably aren't as good as some of the aftermarket greasable shckles, but...
