Anyone know where I can get a "Heater/AC vacuum supply tube" for a 2000 XJ? It is the piece that connects the Heater/AC controls through the firewall to the vacuum line. Thanks.
Thanks for the help guys. I (with some help) ran the vacuum lines from the firewall to the vacumm bottle. 'Lo and behold, there was a break in the line. Fixed it and all is now well again.
The heating and ventilation in my '00 XJ appears to have gone south. It will not switch out of defrost/foot mode when the control switch is moved to a different mode (panel or recirc). It would appear that the mode actuator is not working. Is this something a regular Joe Schmoe with limited...
Dude, WTF? I only needed 3 holes to get my gall bladder out. Hope all is well. I was lucky and the only long-term effect was I am not able to drink malt beverages(granted, this did take away one of my reasons for living) or some types of bread. It's been 4.5 years and I have to hunt hard to...
No, I still have the same one. The damage estimate was a bit less than what the XJ booked for at the time, so it wasn't totaled (which is good as at the time I owed a little bit more than what it booked for). However, I then proceeded to get hosed getting it fixed, as my insurance company kept...
As the driver that took the stocker through Chinamans last year (well, not a total stocker. It had new tires, 235/75 R15's instead of 225/75 R15's) I can say that it can be done and that I have done it but I wouldn't do it again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Were it not for some rock...
Yes, the bushing is accessible (not very easily) from the outside. Getting it in is also a serious pain in the butt. The parts however are only about $12 if you replace all 3 of the bushings. You'll be replacing black ones with green ones.
My 2000 Sport also did this. The fix was to replace a bushing in the linkage mechanism. Appearently there was some sort of service bulletin about the issue.
This weekend, I started geting an odd popping sound in my '00 XJ Sport (stock except for new tires) What happens is when I back up (out of the drive way) and press the brakes I hear two pops that come from the front suspension. Then, the first time I have to stop after starting forward, it...
Really nice pics. Thanks for sharing.
I am also still "negotiating" with my insurance co regarding the amount of payment. At first they seemed to be fine but things went South shortly. We'll see how it turns out.
On a more positive note, last Friday(9/17) I was finally able to pick up my...
In all fairness to State Farm, they have ponied up the repair cost without complaint or hassle. As far as how much my premiums will go up...there's the 20% 10 year accident-free discount I was getting plus some sort of accident surcharge. So I'm guessing about 30% or so increase.
Old Man's explanation pretty much covers the facts of the wreck. I was doing what we're told not to do in Day One of driver's ed: overdriving low visibility conditions. Don't let it happen to you. Fortunately no one was injured and most of the damage was to my vehicle, not Bones'(who was a...
