I have a question for the ones that have done this conversion. Is it really worth it and does it increase braking? I'm not talking about the simplicity of maintenance of disc over drum brakes. Did you really see any benefits over a properly adjusted drum setup? I'm getting ready to build my D44...
I'm running the Metalcloak XJ 3.5 lift. Metalcloak 3.5" springs, Metalcloak adjustable short arms. CAD brackets,OME shocks front and rear, OME rear springs, ACOS set to about 5" of lift, RE shackle relocator. This set up is very soft. Almost to soft with the front sway bar disconnected. It's...
I bought the VR10 from truck n store back in April. $569.99 -the $50 rebate =$519.99 definitely a good deal. There wasn't a 10% discount with them at that time. Maybe there is now if someone is interested. Thank for bringing this up and I hope it helps someone.
Have you tried mounting the DL under the pitman arm and checking the angles? In this video he says it's an option depending on your lift size. I don't know if it will work. Just a thought.

I agree with Greenz. I did a 3 1/2" Metalcloak lift with OME leafs and shocks. 31x10.5x15. I thought I'd stay small. NOPE! Now I'm at 4 1/2" ,rocky road Control arm drop bracket, rear shackle relocation bracket, SYE, Adams driveshaft. Thinking of bumping it up to 5". I can still rub the 31's a...
It sounds like you are pretty well set up. Pack up the jeep with gear, fuel and food. Head out and explore. After that rinse and repeat. Do this a few times and you will have answered your own question. Enjoy
XJ_eep i know this doesn't answer your question. I have a 1995 country and it has the rear heated glass. Power everything so yours might be pre wired for a heated rear glass. It's worth looking into. Good luck.
I installed this on my XJ because I didn't have any recovery point on the front. I just used a dremel and windowed the lower valance. It looked factory this way.
I'm in need of a P/S pump bracket. Part #53007617 this fits a 95' cherokee. For some reason mine has developed a couple of cracks. I thought I'd check here first to see if someone in So. Cal might have one.

Here is another option no one mentioned. Don't do anything and just wheel it as it is. As long as your suspension isn't sagging to much. This will give you time to save up some cash.A lot of cash. Do some research on lifts and then BAM go straight to long arms and 33's. The reason I say this is...
