Well, dealers were closed, so I opted for a duralast crank position sensor. Had initial trouble at start up, but eventually caught. I'm letting it run for a bit and hopefully it'll get me till next Saturday till i get a dealer part. Removal and installation took maybe 10 minutes and this was out...
Thanks guys, guess I short changed it. I got 3 codes.
P0340
P0306
P0320
As for P0320 it states distributor/ignition, however in google it's stating crank position sensor. Ill be sure to check any rubbing on the wiring by the back of the head.
I have a 1997 jeep xj 4.0 auto. I got in my jeep and had it running for a couple of minutes and it died. Code came up as cam position sensor malfunction. Question is where the heck is it? I can't see anything by the water pump and I'm praying it isn't by the rear of the block. The car is stuck...
I was in the process of doing an oil change when I came across a pretty bad stress crack. It seems that the factory weld on the bracket that's mounted on the front axle and holds the lower control arm is letting go. This is only on the left(driver side). I'm guessing MIG welder won't be enough...
Update: I did not remove the fan or clutch. I threw in a new pump and radiator and completely flushed the system. While some have different choices I used dexcool. I've used dexcool in every vehicle that I've owned and have never had a problem. I've red that the cheapo green coolant causes rust...
Did you have to remove the fan or fan clutch? It looks fairly straight foward. Loosen fan housing, remove top support and access is right there. Lastly, the vehicle is far from my house so I have to bring a set of tools to get both water pump and radiator installed. Anyone remember specificdlly...
I thought the same considering I'm a mechanic for the postal service. But the only vehicles we have that are right hand drive are LLV's which are GM platforms. We have a couple of 2 door xj's but they're all left hand drive. Think I'll just go in person to check it out. Thanks! :)
Mine blew. In the process of ordering one from from Autozone he asked... Right or left? I was thinking transmission cooler lines location? He then replied.. Left of steering box or right? Right one is $340.00/left one is $126.00. Last I checked I thought it was/is a one piece unit? Am I missing...
