    Transfercase Bearing question

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, I used the sleeves from a balljoint and a hammer to press them in/out last time. What other ways might I go about fixing it if the new bearing spins too?

    Transfercase Bearing question

Oh hell, I hope I don't need a new case. I have a new bearing kit coming in the mail tomorrow. I just remembered that I was questioning that very bearing when I did the first rebuild.... http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=78356 Could I have used the wrong snap ring? That wouldn't...

    Transfercase Bearing question

I have a 91 cherokee. NP242. My transfercase has been making a sound when in 4x4 that made me think the front output bearing was toast. There was a little play when I shook the driveshaft up and down also. The weird thing is the front shaft always spins and it only made the noise in 4x4 under a...

    TrXus Mud Terrains, any good?

Remember that swampers are pretty true to their size. The 34x12.5 is about the same size as a BFG 35x12.5. Oh yeah, I like them too. I have 34X12.5. I don't have much mileage on them but so far they work great on wet roads and in snow. Not much mud yet either. I used to think my MTR's hooked...

    Rebuilt D30 with ARB questions

Well, the took a look at it and even replaced the pinion bearings. I started shaking things around to see and now that I drove it a little there is some play in the front output shaft of the transfercase... I am not sure how it happened. I rebuilt it about 2 years ago. There was fluid in the...

It's a hollow pin. The EZ out fits inside and you can pull it out. You shove it back in afterwards basically. I can't remember if I got a new one in the master rebuild kit or not.

Shoot me a PM with your email if you need the FSM directions for the rebuild. You will need lock ring pliers. I'm pretty sure these are the ones I used. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00947386000P?keyword=ring+pliers Here is one place to get the rebuild kit. It comes with all the...

    Rebuilt D30 with ARB questions

The shop I took it too is the one that did the install. He called me and said I might have to buy the bearing but he'd cover the labor. We are supposed to talk it over when I pick it up. Seems to me like I shouldn't have to buy a new bearing because they were brand new when installed. I figured...

    Rebuilt D30 with ARB questions

Ok, so the shop thinks it's the pinion bearing making the noise. "It went bad somehow". What are the chances the bearing was bad? The axle sat outside for about a month without gear oil and axle shafts. Could this have contributed or is it a problem with the install?

    Lift Gate Latch Adjustment?

I also wrapped the striker with some duct tape. That helped some and has held up for a long time.
