Thanks Tim, I was curious about the distributor-less ignition. The 2000 XJ is distributor-less and the 1992 has a distributor. If I replace the distributor from the 1992 YJ with the distributor-less from the 2000 XJ,, do they connect the same way? Does the computer fire the ignition the same way...

I am new to this Forum and didn't see if anyone has swapped a 4.0L 1992 Wrangler YJ for a 2000 4.0L XJ. My 2000 XJ had a blown head gasket and I found a broken piston skirt after pulling the oil pan. A friend gave me his 1992 Wrangler YJ engine and wasn't sure how difficult it would be to swap...
