Yep, that was part of the problem. I just have to warm the engine enough (three minutes or more) to make it run smoothly and not have sudden stalls.

So the Jeep is running as it did, the catalytic converter had a hole blown out of it and the muffler had bursted, ha. Everything runs, but it wants to stall within the first few minutes. Any ideas?

How about the catalytic converter? A buddy of mine told me about the possibility of it being clogged (since it's been ten years since there was a new one). As far as mine, I've driven it through a couple of embarrassing miles, couldn't go above 30 MPH and have a back seat full of smoke, ha. So...

The 4.0 I6 surges sporadically in power and hesitates when throttle opens. I have replaced the MAP sensor, Oxygen sensor, and actually have cleaned the intake manifold (just because I have the time). I was thinking of replacing the EGR valve assembly but doubt it. Any suggestions? (XJ in...
