I like this build as i have an IDENTICAL color 1993 XJ and when i got it, it took alot of work too, like a fuel pump, and coil, radiator, water pump, shocks. (coil was a PITA to diagnose)
still running good at 264,000
hope you get to keep it running
I have not had this problem with my XJ
i did have the original coil fail and would shut down all power once it got too hot.
and is he replacing it with NEW coils or reman ones??
i just replied in the duplicate thread for this in OEM tech
i think the door swap would be easier than trying to swap in the windows that may not even match up to the older doors.
plus side with doing the swap you get better side mirrors
i had a problem with the coil in my 1993 that would cause the same problem. The coil would get too hot and shut down. Would lose ALL power when it happened.
Does this happen after the engine gets to temp?
I have water leak on drivers side but that is due to the fuse panel where it comes into the cab. The original gasket or grommet fell apart and began leaking. I would also recommend replacing the hood seal as well to keep as much water as you can off the firewall.
