98 Jeep Cherokee running a little toasty.

I've been through all this on my 98. Replaced everything in the coolant system - water pump, radiator, fan clutch, etc... Still liked to get too hot. Finally installed hood vents and problem solved. Our engine compartment holds heat like an oven and needs a significant improvement in ventilation...

    Strange Overheating Issue

I chased down my cooling gremlins for 2 years. Went through several flushes, backflushes, and ended up replacing every component of the cooling system. After all that, my XJ still wasn't cooling as well as I wanted; the magic bullet ended up being hood vents. Turns out the XJs engine compartment...

    LED Fog Lamps

Why LEDs no work on your 98? I had a problem running LEDs in my 98. They were causing some dash lights to be partially lit and high beams were stuck on. Once I pulled the fog light relay in the fuse box under the hood, all was fixed and LEDs worked like a charm.

    I forgot recovery points =(

Best/strongest front recovery point solution without adding a new front bumper. 8 mounting points straight to the unibody. I trust it WAY more than factory tow hooks that only mount via 2 points. Not too too expensive either http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/11069.html

Wallowed out holes axle side track bar

Here's your fix: https://kevinsoffroad.com/product/track-bar-upgraded-hardware-kit/ And XJs do run the track bar bracket that is notorious for wallowing out the hole. I made that mistake... Switched to an adjustable track bar once I saw the bracket wiggling and opening up the hole. Never got...

Questions about Ford 8.8 Diff Swap

I know for a fact the TrueTrac for the 8.25 does exist. I bought mine from RWKHaus a couple months ago. IIRC I couldn't find it listed on his website and didn't find it until I emailed him about it and then he replied with the link to it.

Dana 60 front and rear bolt ins

Dana60s are awesome, but your going to sacrifice a lot of ground clearance. D60s and 37s is the ground clearance equivalent of D30 and 33s. So if you are dead set on running D60s then I would suggest increasing your planned tire size to at least 40s. OR run some Dynatrac Prorock 44s with the...

Seeking Off-Road Industry Knowledge - Vendors Plz Chime In if possible

Hey XJ brudahs, I am putting together a report and am trying to find figures on the annual revenue of all off-road products and/or accessories manufacturers. US or global. Basically looking for the size in dollars of the industry. I've tried finding the info on SEMA's website along with...

My Jeep Sits Lower with New Control Arms?

Is it because the new arms are longer and moved your front axle further forward. Just like spreading your legs wider apart when standing up makes you shorter, the same happens when you axles spread further apart? Haha it made sense in my head until I really thought about it...

Project Scope Creep (alfred): Educate me on R&Ring an ARB locker in a D30

Re: Project Scope Creep: Educate me on R&Ring an ARB locker in a D30 I broke several 1/2" breakers bars trying get the hub nut off also. Moved up to 3/4" and still couldn't get it to budge. Figured out to put the tire back on with the wheel's center cap removed. Lower the jeep back to the...

    Rust in fuel rail...suggestions?

eBay has a bunch listed in good shape with injectors intact. Not too bad either IMO $30 to $50. Haha that's the route I would go, but I am not too experienced in playing with acid compounds

Weird lighting problem after switching to LEDs

Fog light relay FTW. I don't understand it, but it cured my symptoms. Polarity issue?

Just how noisy is the cowl cold air intake?

I have the specter (spectre?). Haha I don't know about spelling, but it's the shiny one with an in-tube filter. On a cold start it will hiss for about 30 seconds. After that it's only audible at WOT. IMO it adds some nice drama to getting on the throttle. Haha if it's a Jeep it's supposed to...

    Opinions on Suspension Kit Reliability

Why is that tho? Would a long arm suspension of the same quality as your short arms not perform even better? As far as I can follow the logic, a long arm kit is going to provide better ride quality and more controllability/predictability...

    Opinions on Suspension Kit Reliability

If you wanna go fast offroad then your going to want long arms. Long arms are better for just about everything. Full traction makes a good 4 link long arm suspension designed with go fast stuff in mind. At over 3 inches of lift you will prob need an SYE. I've been told stock steering is good to...
