did u have an oil pressure light come on, or did your gauge read really low? can't tell you for sure, but my guess is the engines seized. seen it twice before, where you can see the pulleys try to move when you try to start it, and when you let off the key, they move back to where they were...

in my experiance its made them lock up

the yokes on the drive shafts will be difrent. early ones had internal slip yokes, and latter, (starting in 96 i think) had external slip yokes. also transmisssions went from 21 to 23 spline outputs in the early 90's. not too sure what year.

difrent wheel bases, difrent suspension setups, ones a uni-body *tear* and the other has a real frame. and alot more advantages/ disadvantages. it all depends on what your doing with your jeep.

there are 3 torx screws on the bottom plastic cover. one in the middle is visable, and there are two more on the outter bottom edge. they are all T-20's if i remember corectly. also remove the lever to tilt the wheel, it just un screws. then pull it apart.
