    Ball joint play

Ok, I'm a tad searched out so I'm gonna ask a couple questions. My 98 XJ is lifted about 5", and I'm starting to experience a harsh wobble at around 50-60 mph. It's not every time, but often enough to irritate me. I'd put it a couple notches below death wobble, which I have experienced in...

    Rough country leafs

Give em a few months and they'll sag.

New 3 Link Long Arm Crossmember

Say I know this guy with an XJ on 33's and roughly 5" of lift. Would this work on such a setup?

    CB Install

I cut out a mounting plate from some sheet metal, and mounted it between the visor clips and the headliner. Added a cb mount bracket to that, and voila, quick easy overhead cb mount.

    Random Overcharging

Also, look for a chafed/rubbed through wiring harness where it goes oer the fuel rail at the firewall. The field control wire is in that harness, and if it touches ground it'll full field the alternator resulting in an over-charge.

    Leaf bolt...serious problem.

Dude, that's what I said to do in the first place. Don't bother trying to break it free. The time you've spent trying to get a wrench on there is way more than it would take to just cut the thing off.

    Leaf bolt...serious problem.

Cut open the pocket, cut the bolt off as flush as you can to the pocket with sawzall. Remove the spring, fish the remaining bolt/nut out of the pocket. Install new spring, use regular bolt/nut/washer combo. Weld nut to pocket after installation if so desired. I didn't and it worked fine for me.

    compression loss

That's kinda what I've been thinking, just want to see if anyone has tried this with success. I'm not afraid of an engine swap, I've done enough of em, I just want to get the motor issues fixed quick so I can move on to the fun stuff.

    compression loss

So, I picked up a 98 XJ, 231k miles on the clock. The thing is clean, but has a compression issue on the #1 cylinder. Has a dead miss, and a compression test showed the following: Cylinder 1-50 psi. Cylinders 2 through 6 all around 150 psi. Dumped a little oil in the #1 cylinder and...

    Motor Swap

Searched a little further, found this thread: http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1004103&highlight=motor+swap Sounds like any motor 91 and up will work, but after 98 some accessory stuff needs to be changed.

    Motor Swap

So I'm in the exact same boat (right down to the year), and I'm searching this. I come across this thread, and imagine my disappointment when I find there's no answer yet. Guess I keep searching...

    positive camber after lift

I've actually found that quite a few of the Jeeps issues have been made better by simply not looking at them anymore and just driving it. :)

    positive camber after lift

All 3 of my XJ's had changes in camber after lift. As was stated, since the caster is altered due to the axle rotating forward at the top, the camber will change. The other thing to consider is tires. Are you running the same tires as before the lift or did you go up in size? Any camber or...

can i run a front driveshaft with a np231 with SYE

Check this out http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=IROR&Product_Code=IR-X_HNT&Category_Code= I know it's a hack-n-tap, but it comes with a reman shaft. Not a bad price I thought.

    Dual case time....

They run it with a 231 behind it or a 300?
