    Rear hatch lights

My power's coming from the battery. I've got a direct line coming back to a box where the spare used to be which houses my air pump. I put a fuse block in there, and ran the power to the lights from there. No relay, as noted there's not a lot of draw to the lights, and I mounted the switch in...

    Rear hatch lights

The LED light is more directed, but it still lights up the bed and a pretty good sized area around it. If you follow the link I put in an earlier post in this thread, you'll see DelCity has the LEDs for $22 a pair. Add grommets and pigtails and you'll probably be right around $30. I chose the...

    install advice on skids

"3. the directions say to drill a 1/4" hole on the inside of the frame rail for the hole saw to tap into from the outside. how the @$!#% do u get a drill up inside between the frame rail and T-case?" - This was a pain, especially on the exhaust side. If you can get ahold of a 90deg drill, so...

    Rear hatch lights

Here's a shot of them mounted in the hatch: Where I mounted the switch. There's no interference when the hatch closes: And a shot of how much light they put out: The shots I had with the fascia off the hatch didn't show the space inside to mount them very well, but there's plenty of room.

    It's Time for Suspension Upgrade

A couple of quickies from when I put mine in: -Torque the bolts connecting the arms to the belly pan before you put it up. That's either not in the instructions or I grazed over it. Much easier to do before the pan is up. -When adjusting the length of the whole arm, it's easier to unbolt both...

    3.5 on a 98

If your transfer case selector lever has just 4 positions (2h, 4h, N and 4L), then you've got the NP231. If there's another position labeled something like "Full Time", you've got the NP242. Your '98 should have the High Pinion Dana 30 (if the pinion is above the centerline of the pumpkin...

    Rear hatch lights

There's plenty of room to do this on the metal hatches. I put a couple of these LEDs in mine, and they work very well. I put a switch in the plastic trim going up the rear pillar, so it's easy to turn them on while you've got the hatch up.

    Tire Carrier Recommendations

I've seen people post up swing out tire carriers with stock bumpers. They used stock swing outs (might even have been from XJs, can't recall). I tried to search it using: "swing out" + original. I got a few threads, but you might try searching with different wording. Below is a link to one that...

    Stak Dana 300

Couldn't wait for the 300. Took it for a test-toast today... delicious. Got the 3.8 and dug the crawl speed with the 4.0L and AW4. Had to have a hole cut in the TnT belly pan to get it to fit. It just kissed the pan, and doesn't hang below it with the hole. You can see the hole in the pick...

    queation about bushwacker flares/ suggestions

How much did you trim off? The attachments for the flares are well above where the directions suggest you trim to (like 3"). So unless you let the Sawzall do the thinking when you went after the fenders you should be good to go. For the price you'll want to be sure though, so put up some pics if...

    Stak Dana 300

Anybody picked one up? According to what JohnX said they should be coming out soon. My NP231 just went south on me. Guess I should've replaced the chain when the SYE was done 4 months ago. Ouch. So I could rebuild the 231, or move up. Not sure I want to go with the STaK 2 speed with the trouble...

    Fog lights not working

Ktilcu, I'm guessing since you said that you've got "one for power from the relay..." that you're following Daffy's advice and running the switch on the ground side of the relay's activation circuit? It that's true, you'll actually have two grounds coming from the switch: one that grounds the...
