those of you with 'vinyl mat' interior

my '91 has the mat flooring. don't know if it came stock that way, but it also didn't come with the center console or anything electric so it is a possiblity. i had an '88 before this one and it was "fully loaded" with carpet and everything. i don't really notice much difference at all in...

    Rough Country 3" lift

rusty'soffroad has a 3" lift with full packs for under 500. i don't have their lift, but i am looking at getting their 6" coils and leafs. alot of people don't like them though because of the spring rate that rusty's used to use. from what i understand he stiffened up the rates on the leafs...

    budjet stroker

i appreciate you clearing that up for me. like i stated earlier i wanted to use your design to help with my stroker, but when i read that i was a little confused. then again, i wasn't really thinking about it in terms of changing the hp/tq bands to either broaden them or manipulate them to...

    budjet stroker

am i the only one that caught the fact that dino's stroker kit didn't really improve that much for the price he paid? in the right-up there is a link to his "bolt-on parts." he stated that with the bolt-on parts alone he increased flywheel output to 240hp. after the install of the stroker he...

    beware of the evil phone!

Q: Your story was incredibly entertaining, but is this for real? I promise I won't tell if its not. But why sell a haunted phone on e-bay? miabill29 Mia M Smith Aug-14-05 A: One cannot give such a phone away, that would be irresponsible, the public must be made aware of its potential and...

    Possible New B--few questions

sorry, i have limited knowledge on steering geometry, but from what i can tell the lines of the drag link and trac bar are parallel. maybe just needs an alignment pretty bad. i'm about to purchase the 6.5" from rustys and i did alot of research on the use of a drop pitman arm. from what i've...

    longer shackles and leaf's

i wasn't talking about re-arching the stock springs for lift. i was talking about re-arching (or de-arching) the aftermarket lift springs to put the distance from eye to eye on the leaf spring at an acceptable length. it should basically be the exact same thing as just riding and flexing the...

How to keep the beer cold while wrenching

GoJeep actually has some really good idea for keeping drinks cold, at least while on the road. i also like to stick a bottle of _________(fill in the blank) in the little cargo space underneath the glove box. with the A/C on it keeps it fairly cool.

    Chubbyhick

i don't know about that one. i'm more of an in the middle kinda guy. plus, there have been plenty of times i've seen some "half way down the ass" kinda people and wished to God they would convert!!!

    CD player

i don't see any reason why not. especially if you can pick up the wiring harness that was used in the previous xj (just to make it easier).

    longer shackles and leaf's

sorry, i've got a question i want to add to your post. i know that you can have stock leafs re-arched back to factory specs. so would there be any downfall to having, say, the 6.5" leafs "re-arched" to get the length from eye to eye at an acceptable measurement?

    Howdy

congrats on your purchase. you should do just fine in here as long as you use the search function at least occassionally.

    longer shackles and leaf's

how long has the lift been installed? any wheel'n been done? i ask because i am about to get the same kit you have and did mucho research on it. from what i understand these springs have to break in (and it usually takes quite a while). once they "break in" the leaf will actually bow out...
