Suspension you are prob going to need to do a custom leaf order or do an add a leaf and XJ coils (same as MJ)
Interior, There are a few swaps I've seen but it all depends on what your definition of major fab work is.
Electrical for a renix, follow the Cruiser 54 Mostly Renix tips/tricks...
So on my 92 MJ that has the delay, I have found that the timing of when I turn off the headlights vs the truck provides different results. If I turn off lights and immediately turn off truck, lights come back on for 30 seconds. If I wait a little bit, the capacitor or whatever keeps the lights...
The headlight delay only works (I believe) when you have been driving with the headlights on. if you turn them off and turn off the Jeep, they will come back on.
is this happening during the day? Have you waited the 20-30 seconds the delay would take to shut the lights off to see if yours go...
Yeh, having the rig isn't the issue, it's the overall fuel cost. Budget has been extremely tight and I'm trying to be responsible but still enjoy a long weekend with the guys.
On one of my latest acquisitions (91 XJ 143k miles) I had 33s, 6" lift, 3.55, XO Fab Cage and clocked 20-21mpg on the freeway going 65/70 on all flat land. This was on the only trip that I have taken it on though.
I can shoot a message to Clydefrog who did a 5.3 in his 87 almost 10 years ago now. Biggest thing is where are you located and how much time do you have for down time? Location because its stupid on how difficult it is to be smog legal in CA (if not impossible now-a-days)
You mentioned no...
Run it, it will self clearance (or bang some clearance with a hammer) and the Engine Master show proved that dents and dings in headers/exhaust doesnt affect power.
I have a Riddler diff cover on mine which has a similar recessed bolt head location. IIRC, I bolted it like factory over the diff cover with possibly some grinding to the bracket to make it fit in the diff cover recess.
They are different like mentioned above. I have a buddy locally that did the swap with a 06 block and had to swap accessory drive and a bunch of other things. @DBowlden
Looks like the XJ is fairly built already. I know you probably want to get the axle swap and other stuff done but as long as its reliable, it should make the trip. Worst case, bring the gambler car; again, as long as its reliable.
