    Just to follow up ... I took of the head and pulled the lifters. The lifter was worn to the point that it had a hole in the bottom of it. With the lifter out, I was able to see some wear on the cam lobe as well. So, a new cam, new timing set, new lifters and a gasket set and cam break in...

    Maybe this is a dumb question, but if there was a lobe worn on the cam would I still see movement on the push rod, just not as much as needed? A bit of a novice so I'm just trying to understand a bit better. I did, with the engine running, slightly pushed down on the rocker on the lifter side...
