I swapped '86 axles into my '89, but I swapped all hardware from the knuckle out to make sure there were no problems. If you do the same it should all work fine. Does anyone out there disagree, cuz I'm no expert.

I made a set of tube doors 2 1/2 yrs ago and I love them. I made a front set of 1/2 doors a yr and a half ago, they were a lot more work than the tube doors, I like my tube doors better. As for a mirror, I bought a generic mirror from Auto Zone and mounted it to the top tube of the tube door.

You can get "Slip Coat" from any Case Equipment dealer, they use it on tractors and scrapers and stuff.

Do yourself a favor and put the stock stat back in and make sure the WHOLE system is working properly. I had a 185* t-stat and water wetter in my '89, while they both helped, my temp was not stable (ran between 160 and 220*) and it would still get warm and even overheat while towing up a grade...

Not sure about the unit-bearings, but the shafts will fit. I run TJ shafts in the front of my XJ.

So what you're saying is that in darkness, (under a closed hood) a black canister will be hotter that a "shiney silver" canister. "Shiney silver" could still have a matt finish, then what, or what if it's gloss black?

I have 'em, make certain that you keep 'em pumped up or they can pass water, personal experience
