    Heater switch broke (I think)

there is a good chance that when you take it out it will be rusted out and not burned out. pull the glove box out, then the plastic cover by the passenger feet, there is a couple screws that are hard to get at, 1/4 or 5/16 size i do not remember. there is one way in the back but leave it and...

    deep water fording kit!!!

ok, an engine does not "suck" in air. when the piston goes down it will create an area of lower than atmospheric pressure and the 14.7 or so pounds of pressure we have surrounding us will then rush into the engine. in other words it does not get sucked in but rather pushed in. nice work, nothing...

    BA-10 moaning loud...except in 4th

i would guess the input bearing. when it goes away in 4th it is usually the input.

How to "vac" AC down "from home"?

well...first off there is never a vacuum in the a/c system, unless you have something plugged. you should evacuate the system after you open it up, but if you just hook up a can to the low side, (larger pipe) the freon should go in even if the system is empty. the low side pressure when...

    Radiator overflow 'nipple'

Mighty Putty! but seriously, i was at Ace hardware and bought some generic epoxy putty and i was somewhat impressed, the stuff does seem to work. the tube was a little under 5 bucks.

    front wheel bearing

if it makes more noise on right turns it should be the left unit bearing as that is getting more pressure, while the right bearing is receiving less pressure.

    Load Capacity

center of the chuck to the ways is the swing, double to get the inch ie. 10" or 13" inch. if it has an under drive motor, the motor is under the headstock, some concerns are if it is a flat belt drive, the belts are generally one piece and they are glued on around the pullies. if it is in good...

    Load Capacity

i recently hauled a south bend 10 light in the back of mine, and it worked fine. if you are getting a 13" you might have to do it in pieces. my 10" weighs about 900 or so, i would guess a 13" would go about 1400 lbs. what size lathe are you getting? it would be tough getting an assembled on in...

    idle air control valve mount?

They put some sort of locktite on them when they installed them. i have busted my fair share of them and they can really suck to get out. if the bolts go through the flange and just come out the other side like i think they do on the 4.0, i would just keep drilling until you get through and just...

    Performance Chips

can't help you on the 4.0, but i had a Jet chip on a 5.9 ram truck, all it got me was a constant CEL and terrible gas mileage. took it back off and everything was fine again. just my .02

    high idle help!

if the "plunger" thing is hooked to a electrical solenoid it is probably a fast idle device for when the A/C kicks on. do you have the defrost on, which will also turn the A/C on? if it works ok without it, then just unplug the solenoid

    uhg 2.0

turn signal switch is bad, pretty easy to replace, new one will be expensive, i would just live with it.

    OHC in 4.0?

a few issues that the designers faced, one is engine height, an OHC set-up in an XJ would put the valve cover squarely through the hood with the extra few inches on top of the head. a few inches longer to incorparate the cam chain/belt, water pump and other accessory drives which would put the...
