Come to find out it was the wrong yolk, and the guy that did the install just made it fit ... With a hammer . Got a real d30 yolk from a Buddy and issue solved. Not sure what this thing is out of. Same spline but way bigger OD.
I have done a few lunch boxes in Dana 30s before, so no big deal right? well wrong....
Only had the Jeep a few weeks before getting the locker, and noticed a small pinion leak , figured just old seal. When I pulled the cover almost no fluid came out. So I installed the spartan and bolted it all...
We have had a lot of rain lately in Florida, and gigantic puddle snuck up on me on the road. Ended up going through like 10-12" of water at 25-30mph. Nothing I haven't done off road but the jeep hated it. My check engine was already on and it started flashing and I lost throttle response for a...
Did cut down the input shaft to 1" of spline, cut and inch off the yolk and gained the play I needed on the driveshaft. Thanks guys . Drives nice and smooth
Looks like I need to take yolk off, shorten it, then cut more off input shaft and and drill /tap more to give this drive shaft more room . It's almost fully collapsed. Anyone else have this issue ? Instructions said just use an XJ front as the rear. 5.5" lift.
Thanks guys I never really thought about pulling the axle back but that would be awesome. I can get a good deal on RE stuff . So ill start with the 3.5 leads and the boomerangs and see what happens
Ok so after the shackle relocators it has come to my attention that I need to redo the rear suspension from the huge shackles and stacked , worn out XJ packs that are there now.
What are your thoughts? The relocator gives 1.5, so I was thinking 3.5" leafs and 1" shackle to set the back at 6"...
So I got a replacement rope. Some one wants to trade me a new warn steel cable and roller for my new rope and fairlead. Think I should do it ? When I bought the winch I knew I was getting a cheaper winch, but didn't really know about types if ropes and that this is the most basic open weave style.
When I spooled the rope initially I attached the rope to a tree saver and had my buddy apply the brakes lightly as I worked the controller pulling the line in. Was that a proper method? I am totally new to winching in general and even more so synthetic line. Off part a club member in my Jeep...
