    I'll try that thanks.

    CEL/MIL on, but no codes?

Tried the scanner on my wifes vehicle last night as her CEL is on... The scanner worked correctly and said there were two codes and the MIL is ON... I know I should have codes - last weekend I tried to pass someone and must have had multiple misfires. The engine went into 'limp' mode and I had...

    CEL/MIL on, but no codes?

My check engine light has been on for a while, due to misfires is my guess... Borrowed a friends OBDII scanner and it tells me that there are no codes? It also says the MIL status is OFF. huh? Should I assume the scanner is messed up, as it's pretty clear the MIL is on! This is a 2001 XJ 4.0L

Got a instrument Cluster to unload?

I'm looking for an instrument cluster with gauges - I need the temp gauge... Stupid move that I broke off the needle adding glow gauges. Duh. My vehicle is a 95 XJ, i don't really need the whole cluster. Thought maybe someone had a partial cluster? If anyone has a cluster with the temp gauge...

WTB: 95 XJ Instrument Cluster or just Temp Gauge

I need a new temp gauge for my 95 Xj - accidently broke the needle off adding glow gauges... Anyone have a used console, or a console that they bought just for one of the other gauges please let me know!

    Other ideas on cooling...

Ok, it turns out that my system is now running well enough that it never got hot enought to turn on the aux fan - EXCELLENT! I towed my boat for a test ride to see if the engine got hot, and it stayed rock solid at about 212 degrees, so we went to the launch... Parked the XJ idling while...

    Beefing up rear springs...

Ok, now that my cooling issues are solved, I've successfully towed my 2000lb boat with no problem! I did notice, however, that with the trailer connected and the added tongue weight (only 100lbs) the rear sags. And I'll be loading the back of the XJ with more weight than that at some point...

    Factory clock write up done

thanks - at least I can "prick" the wires and see if the voltages are right....

    Other ideas on cooling...

Yes, they are connected by a diode block which creates an "OR" condition - fan should come on if the A/C is on - OR - if the temp switch signals it needs to... either condition will power to the relay. Where is that confounded diode block????

1995 XJ Cooling Fan Circuit diagram???

Anyone have a detailed wiring diagram for the cooling circuit on a 1995 XJ 4.0l? I need it to debug the aux fan circuit... I have a haynes manual - not specific enough. Ideally I need the pinout for the relay. THANKS!!!!!!!

    Electric cooling fan relay?

Anyone know what terminals are what connection for the Aux cooling fan relay? Vehicle is a 95 cherokee sport 4.0l. I'm trying to debug this fan circuit and it would be good to know the connections at the relay. I can lift the relay slightly and get to the terminals with my voltmeter while it's...

    Other ideas on cooling...

Ok, OEM thermostat did the trick. This morning I stared the xj and kept feeling the hoses and watching the gauge, it got over 230 before the thermostat opened and the top hose started getting hot. So the thermo was opening late and was causing lots of fluctuation while driving. I replaced the...

    Other ideas on cooling...

There might be something to the trapped air idea... I drained the system to replace the heater core, so there could still be some air. That may be the best advantage of the OEM thermostat, the small vent... I'll replace the thermo tomorrow and we'll see. I have a new serpentine belt, but I...
