alrighty, my friend ended up bringing it back to the junkyard. but now the wheels in my head are turning and i'd rather not start a new thread.
is it possible to put the head from a ho motor onto a renix block, then use the newer intake? at the same time, if you can do this, is it possible to...
thanks so far guys. i will speak to my friend tomorrow and see what he plans on doing. if he for some reason keeps it, is there any way to put the ho head on the renix block, maybe/ thanks again!
one of my friends recently acquired an intake manifold from a junkyard out of a 99 or a 00 xj with the 4.0ho because his cracked. my friends cherokee is a 1990 with the 4.0. will the newer intake manifold bolt up to the renix motor? when he got it, he figured a 4.0 intake was a 4.0 intake...
what ho parts can i take off my 91 and put onto a 1990 non HO 4.0 motor? and do i have to make any wiring changes? both are automatics with ac.
reason, i'm asking, i've given up on that stupid nut. i got a hold of a torch, i used pipe wrenches, vice grips, and chipping away at it with a...
i'll try to borrow one tomorrow from somebody. i can't do it tonite only because i pb blasted the hell out of it. i don't want to be torching something and boom, lol
once again you guys have been a great help, but unfortunately my jeep hates me i believe. the rounded nut is still on there. i got a nut splitter at autozone, but it didn't work. and when it slipped, it bopped the power steering pulley. i thought nothing of it until i spun the pulley out of...
thanks for the tips everybody. tomorrowi, i'm gonna try to see what i can do. i'm looking to get it running by thursday. i've never had this much trouble with a belt, lol.
i'm getting really irritated. took the radiator out, and was looking at that bottom "bolt". its not a bolt. its a nut. i tried one of those gator grip sockets that supposedly works with anything with no luck and my vice grips aren't working either. any come to find out my drill, the plug is...
thanks. i was looking at it more and i'm going to have to work on it tomorrow. and that bottom bolt(not the long one)is definitely rounded. i tried but couldn't seem to get vice grips to turn it either. so i soaked it in pb blaster and called it a day. i'm hoping i don't have to drill it out...
i went to start my 91 today and the belt snapped. i think i found the tension bolts near the ps pump. i've never changed a belt on a 4.0 before. i see 4 bolts. 2 behind the ps pump, 1 under the ps pulley(which somebody had previously rounded) and one underneath the ps pump(which also seems...
thanks guys for the tips. as soon as its in the yard, i'll transfer the plugs, cap, wires, and rotor from my 91 on, and then i'll check on the cat. thanks again!
