Thanks for the reply! That's kinda what I'm gathering. I'm not against loosing abs. Where I live sometime abs (especially older) causes more harm than good... I'll do a little more homework on the 8.8 but I was just planning on pulling the rear driveshaft out of the donor rig when I do the rest...
I have a 2001 with abs and I want to swap to a 8.25. other than some new u bolts is there anything else I need to think about? Especially in regards to abs? Not planning on doing the disc break conversion yet.
Sorry to hijack the thread I was just surprised to hear the negative reviews on rusty's. I have been reading a lot of good reviews on both the 3' SA advanced lift and the 4.5" long arm.
I'm not against building a kit but it makes it rather convenient, and generally better priced when you can...
I plan on running 31s. I live in northern Idaho and lots of inclines and curvy roads. Generally its pretty slow going unless your on the highways.
I want to avoid a re-gear for now. but may revisit that when I do lockers.
Thank you everyone for the responses. I will hold out for a 1998-2001 XJ for the doner rig. I do plan on grabbing the steering and linkage out of the ZJ for the upgrade. Any other parts I should grab?
