Good good, no explosion, go it.
I guess I feel that the O-ring is too thick:) I gotta man-up, do some P90X and try harder to make the seal.

Danka, I was 86% sure that's how it went... now I'm just haveing problems making that combo work. A la Happy Gilmore "my fingers hurt"
Any recommendations on making this work? Inside tricks?
Haha. I am replacing the fuel pump and can't remember where my o-ring goes.
Is it gas tank > o-ring > fuel pump > locking ring
Or is it gas tank > fuel pump > o-ring > locking ring?
Sorry for the dumb question, but I've tried both combos and am having trouble. Before forcing the issue I...
V-I-C-T-O-O-O-O-R-Y !!!!!! Thanks joe_peters, suggestion #1 equaled vroom-vroom! Moving forward, knowing that the shift-to-neutral-then-try-to-start method worked, is there some preventative maintenance I need to look at to ensure this doesn't happen again? Thanks again everyone.
Okay, so I removed all plug wires to the distributor cap and removed the cap to check the install of the rotor button. That checked out good. While the cap was off I took the opportunity to ensure the connection to the ignition coil (at least I think that's what we'll call it) was good. I...
Sorry about that, I'll try to clarify a bit better.
Battery connection is good, there are lights and dings from the dashboard.
The engine does not turn over at all.
I will double check the work tonight when I get home from work and let you know if there is any change.
Thanks for the support...
I will check the rotor spinning theory and re-check the wires tomorrow when the light is better (not my DD so no immediate rush). Thanks for the suggestions and the answer to the mysterious black thing!
I searched here, on Google, and in the Hayes manual but didn't find what I was looking for.
Prior to installing these new parts, my '93 started up fine, this was just a little routine maintenance and to get my hands dirty with the Jeep as I am a newbie to all this.
So, as the subject line...
This passenger side theory was one that I was one that crossed my mind too.
I do realize it is VERY subjective, and I do appreciate the responses thus far.
It's just one of those things I was thinking about and curious what others thought.
I wish I knew how to create a poll, but I would like to hear which tire suffers the most trail damage in your experience? Wether this is a sidewall puncture, dismounting, etc.
Not only will this be interesting to track this data, I'm hoping it may (slight chance here) help people like myself...
Not born, but raised in north Raleigh, then went to school at ECU and stayed there until a month ago, now just south-east of Raleigh in Clayton.
Today's my b-day and purchasing a 4.5" RE lift, should be on the road (actually off the road) in 2 months or so.

Great advice, and I completly understand, but there is always the "what if". Like what if I do hit a "blue hole" that I did not see coming, if I can get pulled out of said predicament by a buddy, I would like the reassurance of my jeep firing up and me continuing on my happy way. In this...
