    This happen to you?

Thanks for the replies guys! I know I didnt hear anything "bump" or "poke" up into the underside of my XJ... but like it was stated, alot can happen in 16" of snow that you may not hear or see. I guess I'll just chalk it up to bad luck and quit worrying about it. Thanks again. James

    This happen to you?

Had something happen that has me kinda un-nerved about my XJ. I'll just give a "timeline" approach to save your eyes. I was wheeling in the 16 inches of snow that we got here in MO last week at my brother-in-laws farm. Alot of creeks and gullies forested area. Here is the scenario: 1. Wheeled...

    Ryan's Off Road bumpers

I went and looked at the picture provided on his website. One thing to remember, anyone can make a chunk of steel to hang off the front of a vehicle... some more sturdy than others. With our XJ's, you need to be very concerned with how it MOUNTS. He doesnt show any pics of the mounting. I...

    Why the vibrations?

One thing to remember: If you had ANY vibes prior to re-gearing to lower gears, then they will be more pronounced with the lower gears and the driveline spinning faster. James

Is it worth it? (Tire Question)

Just like mentioned above, higher rpm's, more power, etc. I know a couple of guys who have had the 31's with 4.56 combo for awhile and liked it until they got 33's. Loved it with 33's.... I think I might just stick to 32's after all. I dont have access to any 8.8's or 8.25's here in central...

Is it worth it? (Tire Question)

Thanks for the replies guys! I was leaning toward 33's to begin with, but just wasnt sure. MY plans only include "backwoods" and medium trail duty. I wont rock crawl due to it being a daily driver and I cant have it go down on me for more than a couple of days. Also, I have an appointment for...

Is it worth it? (Tire Question)

Quick question here to those who have experienced this. I'm going to up-size tires soon. I currently have 31's and want to know if there is enough difference between 32/11.50 and 33/12.50 to matter? With the 32's, I can get away with minor trimming with the 4+ inches of lift I have now...

Any feedback or experience on these 3 exhaust manifolds?

Alot of us have used the "other ones" and they work just fine.....

Any feedback or experience on these 3 exhaust manifolds?

The second one looks like the one made by Dorman. I put that one on my ZJ and it works fine. The "flex-joints" will help out alot in keeping it from cracking again.

    Squeel! Grooves where pads rest!?!

I had the problem of the pads wearing grooves into my steering knuckles on my 97 Grand. I just filled the grooves with a bead of weld, then filed the weld down to where it was all smooth and on the same plain as the original metal. Worked like a charm for me.

    ? about SYEs

I thought this also, regarding pointing the pinion at the TC... but when I had the pinion parallel to the TC output shaft, it vibrated. (?) So I took it all back apart and shimmed it 4*. This pointed my pinion "almost" straight at the TC output shaft and the vibes went away. Lord only knows...

    ? about SYEs

I have 4.5" of lift with no SYE and 1" TC drop. Like another poster above me, I shimmed my axle pinion to point directly at the TC. I've got no vibes. Its a 96 Country, AW4 and 242 TC.

What's the worst that could happen?

A cracked exhaust manifold can also ruin the upstream O2 sensor. You may be buying one of those next spring also. Just FYI.

    Any Input Appreciated--sorta long.

Okay, update time. I "piddled" around with a bunch of plug-ends and such yesterday. Took every plug that I could find apart, cleaned the pins up (if there was anything even on them), and applied dielectric grease to them. Pushed them all back together. Then I took all the plugs off of the...
